Everything Damon did this ep. was yet another proof of his selflessness and how he's really the better brother. Even though things seem bad right now, it will change later on. We've been trough much harder things. Also Damon did say that he still loves her and we know that Elena loves him too, she just won't admit it. She was so jealous, telling everybody about DR. The latest episode showed how much plus Damon was on Elena's mind than Stefan. She called Stefan once, yet she a dit to Damon she called him 10 times. She was jealous of Damon/Rebekah... she kinda admitted it to Rebekah saying she slept with Damon only to hurt her feelings. She was talking non-stop about what she a dit to Damon at the dance to Bonnie ... yet never mentioned what happened on the porch with Stefan...

I actualy don't think the episode was bad for DE fans. It showed Damon not taking seconde place ou being an after thought for Elena anymore. It showed that he was done with that and also it showed that he will step up and actually do the dirty work for his brother in order to save him even plus guilt.
