Why l’amour Severus?

Number of reasons... He's intelligent, powerful wizard. I l’amour his sarcastic sense of humour. He's dark and misterious, he sacrifices so much of himself for the greater good, risks his life to help Harry and the Order. He might be a little petty but it adds to his charm. He radiates sexuality and power. I l’amour his har, his black robes and his voice of course :) (well, Alan Rickman's voice, but for me they are one and the same :P)

The REAL question here is...why not l’amour Severus?

real l’amour can't be explained, it just is.

His bravery, petty-ness, sarcasm, intelligence, determination, his greasy black hair, hooked nose and billowing cloak. The way he doesn't take crap from anyone.

Everything, in short :p

Because he is what is in the eyes and cœur, coeur of every woman the total package of a true man. Loyal to a fault, tall dark and handsome, mysterious, till toi get to know him, always keeping toi thinking and on your toes, tells little of his true nature but demonstrates through actions and little words, grieves in silence but wears it in the eyes so toi have to look for it, and never boost of himself and deeds but discretely lets toi know in the end who they really are when it's too late and can't thank them.

I started lire the livres and was curious about Severus Snape. I used to be a very prolific reader (one book a day) till life got way to interesting lately. (I now know why that's a ancient curse, btw, 'may your life be interesting'.....ugh) Anyway, its led me to, usually, when I read, my brain already starts considering how an auteur can ou will write a story arc and which characters will be interesting to find out stuff about. toi always knew that Severus would just be there through the whole series ou be taken out dramatically and/or meaningfully. I halfway loved him just because he held my interest throughout the series.

And, oh Lord, then they cast Alan Rickman and an insane interest was found in him. LOL

But, he's what all of us hope for ou still hope for.

He is the outcast child, the freak, the odd ball either we ourselves were in school ou the one we were best Friends with. The different types of persecution toi suffer for being different.
And everyone remembers that relationship that toi Lost because of something one of toi did that caused an unsurpassable separation. ou maybe toi were able to get past it but the friendship was never the same.

But, past that, at some point in time, everyone has looked for some form of repentance for some past action. Everyone wants forgiveness. Works for it. Strives for it.

Severus Snape, with his life, his struggle, his thirst for knowledge that was misunderstood, his persecution par others, his upholding of his own believed morals and rules, his loyalty, and his ultimate sacrifice for that beliefs, symbolizes a part that we find in all of us.

And, having Alan Rickman bring him to life with his physique, his mannerisms, his voice, and his dramatic timing.......

Unforgettable.

I l’amour his dramatic pauses in the middle of the sentence and I simply adore the way he say : "Obviously!" to Umbrigde in 5th movie. And he's probably one of the most braves men that lived in the wizard world...

Can't not l’amour Severus.It's Destiny.He's the beginning and the end and the Mystery in between.

He's really cool! And i really like him because of his never ending l’amour for Lily, his loyalty to Dumbledore, and very mysterious. I really feel sorry for him cause everybody thought he was an evil person even though he's a really great guy. He still protected Harry even though he hated him because of his father. And I feel sorry for him 'cause after all those years, he still can't forget Lily. AARRGGHH! I just can't find he right words to describe him! He's too AWESOME!

Snape is the quintessential dark, sensitive guy. He shows solidarity but with that hint of danger that makes him interesting and irresistible. He's the kind of wounded soul every girl wants to heal, and he's worth the work because he is smart, funny, and loyal.

Because of his Slytherin Gryffindorness - unless it is because of is Gryffindor Slytherinness ? He radiates so many things... So much duality in his personality.

Bravery and courage. Dedication and devotion. Intelligence and brilliance. Power and might. Dark and light. Sarcasm and wit. Anger and bitterness. Mercy and compassion. Knowledge and skills. Smartness and cleverness. Grace and agility. Obsidian eyes and silky black hair. Dominant and submissive. Powerful hands and deft fingers. Lovely mouth and scathing tongue. (Oh, the things he could do with these last 4...) Should I keep on with the liste ?

The Ultimate Voice - well, Alan's but that's exactly how I imagine Severus' voice to be. To me, his voice is like hot chocolat that would drip inside my ears...

All the above is what comes to my mind when I think of Severus. My beloved Dark Angel of fate...
(And I'm sure I forgot stuff.)

For sure, his male Dominant side has a strong appeal to me. He would be the kind of man I would agree to soumettre myself with complete trust and abandon. I also feel a strong possessive streak in him too and it also has a great appeal on me.
(Take me ! Take me ! Steal me ! Steal me !)

To sum it all up : he does the right thing with flawless courage while bitching about it the whole way.

Oh, I forgot : he brings a lot of sexiness to black.

Why do i l’amour him?? I l’amour him because he is darkly sexy, a very powerful wizard who is able to be in extrem control of his emotions, A great potion maker and a very smart, intelligent and logical wizard i l’amour him because i like his way to be sarcastic and his robes and hair xD Those words aren't even strong enough to describe him and my l’amour for him !!

He's intelligent. I l’amour smart men. It is drip worthy really. I also l’amour his sarcastic attitude and sharp wit when it comes to his come backs. Severus is the greatest.

I can also empathize with him too.

Because his voice (perfectly portrayed par Alan) is melted chocolat mixed with liquid gold, borne on the breath of God.
Because of his wounded-heart, tragic-hero past.
Because he simply exudes power.
Because he has perfected sarcastic wit to the point it leaves toi quaking in shame, shaking with laughter, and desperate for more.
Because he exists to protect someone he cared so little for, for a promise to himself to honour the one person he ever really loved.
Because he loved with such sincerity, that he subjected himself to a hideous life of double-agency, for someone who could never even know.
Because he continued with nothing but loyalty and bravery.
Because he always says exactly what is needed, and nothing more.
Because he is, in one word - Severus.

Because I've known of him my whole life and knew he was good. He's plus than just a character to me he's a whole new entity... He brings me pure euphoria, he's such an amazing person, there Isn't any words to be used to sum up to his greatness...

toi guys have such well thought out reasons. I still can't figure out what it is about him that I find so appealing. All I can say is that I've been obsessing about him since Dec 09, when ABC Family was running an HP marathon. I wasn't paying much attention until somewhere in PoA I dropped my bowl of chips b/c his hotness overwhelmed me. B/c I'm normally clumsy, no one thought this was odd. I've only recently discovered this site, so it's been refreshing seeing I'm not the only one w/ahhh, unconventional taste in men.

*Which* Severus Snape? The *book* Snape, ou the *movie* Snape? They are almost two different men, at first consideration. Snape as he's written is a bastard. A complete bastard. He is such a bastard that par the time we reach "The Prince's Tale" it's nearly incroyable that this angry, wretched creature was ever capable of love. Which, I think, only adds to the depth of the character, really, and the fact that it's very nearly a life-long l’amour makes it even plus incredible.

But in the movies...that's where Professor Snape of the book series blossoms into the Severus we all l’amour so deeply and dearly. Alan Rickman found the redeeming qualities in the wretched creature and gave him back his humanity. As he's written, it's very easy to hate him. Very easy to have no faith in him and to doubt Dumbledore's sanity for ever trusting him. But as he's acted, it's nearly impossible to not sympathize with him. Nearly impossible to not believe there is plus to him than what we see. Nearly impossible to believe he isn't jouer la comédie out of love. So much so that par the time we reach the end, it comes as no surprise that he is such a noble man, and has sacrificed so much, for a child he seemed to hate, to honor the woman he loved so very much. Enough to lay down his life for.

Dumbledore was no fool for trusting him.

How can we *not* l’amour him?

Why l’amour Snape? Because he loved so deeply he Risked everything. Because he Never stoped loving Lilly. Because in the end he Died for her. That is true love. And That is why I l’amour him.

Well at first I hated him but after the third book I began to respect him. I caught on that he tried to help the students realize the possible danger that they were in. He protected Harry Ron and Hermione when Lupin turned into that werewolf. He could have done a lot worse to Harry since he looks exactly like his father. I also l’amour his sarcasm and wit. He maybe cold but he's not heartless. He's also an extremely powerful, very intelligent, greatly experienced, heavily misunderstood, ridiculously Rebelle wizard risking his life, having to kill his best friend, protecting people he may not like, being a double agent knowing it could mean excruciating torture and then death. He's so dark and mysterious its alluring and with the awful past he's endured toi can't but sympathize him(even though he doesn't need it). Very brilliant, cunning, freakin HILARIOUS! I can't tell toi how many times he's made me laugh! And even though Alan Rickman is like 65 he's kind of handsome =P And his voice! OMFG! Thats why I l’amour him <3

He is amazing, he's powerful, he's the half blood prince, he used to be a death eater, he hates harry but he tries to save him sometimes and he is absolutely perfect!!!!!!!!!!! <3

He's caring, mysterous, sarcastic, protcetive, loyal. These are all the things that most people aren't so that's why i l’amour him some much i even dream about him when im in bed. SEVERUS SNAPE 4EVER !!!!!!XXXXX
