Note: sucky fanfic alert! Okay, so I'm posting this at 3 in the morning because I realized that I might not have internet in NYC at our friend's apartment.

It's also really short because my baby, a Huddy fic, is taking up most of my time. But I could never forget Huli for the holidays.

Anywho, I shall shut up and let toi read.

Keep sinning! (:C

It was Valentine's Day, and the city was abuzz with excitement; lovers, family, Friends and even the single ones, all celebrating in their own way. Most restaurants were filled now, along with the less classy bars, and some winter bearers able to face the cold. It was an usually cold jour in LA too, which made it all the plus interesting.

At exactly seven fifteen, there was a knock at the door of a quiet, plus suburban looking home. The man outside stood, shivering slightly in the cold despite having spent his youth in England, a box tucked under one arm, a bottle of wine in the other.

"Gosh, toi know the door is usually unlocked when I'm expecting you!" The door swung open and the woman smiled at him, embracing him tightly.

"I know, I'd just rather not come in and see toi running around half-naked."

"Oh, gosh!" She giggled, pulling him indoors, "You're such a gentleman Hugh!"

"Oh, well, most people do say that about Englishmen," Hugh set the box under his arm on the ground as he bent to pet the fluffy chiens crowding around his feet.

"Hugh!" Lisa picked up the box and examined it, "You didn't have to, really. I told toi not to!"

"Lisa," he stood, "We couldn't continue our Christmas tradition since Robert invited me to his place, so I figured that we'd make it up today."

"You and your traditions!" Lisa beckoned him into the kitchen, "Here, set that bottle down and help me with dinner."

"Of course my dear," Hugh teased, bringing a blush to Lisa's cheeks. "I got your favori pie, pinto Noir too."

"Really? How would I expect toi to know that?"

"I asked David which kinds he ordered for the New Year's party, I remembered toi had a red wine there."

"Well toi got it," Lisa smiled at him, "Want to open it now ou wait until dinner?"

"Let's open it now," Hugh reached for the bottle opener, along with two wine glasses.

"Good idea," Lisa poured the glasses and raised hers. "To our friendship."

Hugh clinked his glass with hers, "And the happy times we have together."

"Oh goodness!" Lisa slammed her glass down, sloshing some of the wine out of the cup. "I completely forgot that I was baking the dessert!" She wrinkled her nose at the smoky air, "I hope it's all right."

"If not then we can live, there's always time for me to run to the store and get something."

"And get questioned on the way back." Lisa smirked at him, "I think we're going to have to go with ice cream tonight," she set the burned looking cake on the counter.

"No we don't," Hugh stuck a fork into the charred cake and swallowed a
mouthful, before spitting it out.

"Or never mind..." Lisa laughed again, her eyes sparkling. "Burned cake doesn't always taste good."

“You're right about that,” Hugh had grabbed the wine bottle and refilled his glass, drinking it hurriedly, trying to rid his mouth of the taste.

“Stop that!” Lisa laughed at him as he went to refill his glass for the third time, “I think toi got the taste out of your mouth.”

“Maybe I did,” Hugh smirked at her, smacking his lips jokingly, “Ever been kissed par wine-tasting lips?”

“What?!” Lisa cried in between laughs, “You're joking right. I mean, toi are still married ...”

“No I'm not,” Hugh cut her off, “We settled for a divorce; I vouched for it plus than she did but it's final. I'm a free man.”

“Yay!” Lisa teased, hugging him. “You and me, we can be free together.”

Hugh quirked his eyebrows at this; confused. “Really?”

“I well...” Lisa tried to hide her embarrassment at her slip.

“I know what toi meant Lisa,” Hugh laughed, “We're both free from any partner, so we're just going to live life being two crazy friends. Right?”

“Possibly,” Lisa looked up at him, “Who says we can't be more?”

“'More'?” Hugh repeated, “Like what?”

“Oh, nothing,” Lisa glanced away for a few seconds, still embarrassed. “Now...about those kisses.”

“You silly girl!” Hugh kissed her lips chastely, “No wonder I think you're the most amazing person alive.”

“Flattered,” Lisa blushed, “I could say the same about toi Hugh.”

They both laughed at that one and began to prepare a makeshift dessert of ice cream and cookies, now feeling much happier than they had before. And with both of them looking forwards to many plus Valentine's Days spent together; as friends, as lovers, and possibly, more.
