does your parents ever call animé that your watching a "cartoon'' and does it make toi a little mad ou do u just ignore it

My mom calls it "Japanese Cartoons" and my dad calls it "Cartoons". animé is pretty much Japanese dessins animés and cartoons, just with a different name. So I'm not the least bit bothered par it.

No my parents I don't recall them ever saying it. But some jeark at school. he saw me wearing an animé T-Shirt. he a dit toi still like dessins animés your still a baby. I told him animé is not a cartoon according to what the Japanese people say. he made fun of me and embarresed me in class. He a dit I would never like dessins animés there for babys. The suivant jour he came into class with a Sesame rue T-shirt on. I a dit I thought toi did not like dessins animés a dit they were for babsy. he got mad at me. I told him Your wearing a Sesame rue chemise that's a cartoon. he got mad at me. I a dit iof toi wanna learn your Abcs count to 123 and learn how to tie your shoes again. Than wear a cartoon PBS Kids baby t-shirt. I like animé not baby dessins animés like you. If toi don't like dessins animés than don't wear Sesame rue cartoon shirt. I embarrassed him in class and got back at some guy boy in school class and embarrassed him. he wanted to fight me but I didn't cause I was not about to get into trouble at school.

My mom is always mixing up anime, manga, cartoons, and vocaloids. I got a DVD in the mail from netflix, it was an animé I ordered so when my mom went to give it to me she a dit "one of your vocaloid came". Since she's obviously not into it ou anything, and she really doesn't care that I am, I've basically just donné up on really trying to correct her. In the end I know she doesn't mean any harm par it and it really doesn't matter.

My mom likes animé quite much. As for my stepdad he sometimes calls animé a "cartoon" which does upset me a little bit but for the most part I just ignored it

MDR whenever I watch animé and my mum sees, she doesn't call it animé ou cartoons, she asks if I'm watching Naruto.
She knows I l’amour Naruto. But she thinks every animé is Naruto lmao....

animé is just japanese dessins animés and I don't see the reason why people so mad about animé being a cartoon it's so stupid when people get angry over this stuff really(my opinion through) and who cares if toi watch it just because animé is a cartoon doesn't mean toi have to stop watching it ou get mad over something so stupid because dessins animés also teach life lessons as well, animé isn't the only cartoon that does this there are a lot of dessins animés that do the same thing as animé does, animé isn't different at all really it's just a another style of cartoon really but it's doesn't bother me because people at me about what animé is I say japanese cartoon because that's just the way it is really though animé isn't any different from dessins animés and don't listen to people when they say toi cant watch it just because it is a cartoon.

Yes, they have in the past... and at first, it did annoy me quite a bit... until I realized animé technically is a form of dessins animés (whether we all like to admit it, ou not).
I notice a lot of animé fans dismiss people (who call animé cartoons) as ignorant, but ironically, the animé fans themselves are the ones being ignorant.
One might argue, "anime can't be dessins animés because it's not exclusively for children!"
That statement is untrue, because dessins animés aren't exclusively for children, either. They can range greatly in demographics, just like anime.
Another might argue, "anime can't be dessins animés because it's not stylized in a western fashion!"
This is also untrue because dessins animés aren't exclusive to styles from western countries. As a long as a montrer is drawn ou animated, it can be considered a cartoon (regardless of its style ou origin).
Even though it annoys me when fans claim animé is not a form of cartoons, I somewhat sympathize with them. animé has evolved into such a unique form of animation, that it's not hard to understand why one would want to separate the two.
animé is like a branch (of the arbre that is cartoons) although, it's not just any branch. It has evolved into such an in depth, complex branch that toi almost want to consider it a separate tree.
Anyway, the way I see it is like this... if people want to call Japanese animation "anime", and non-Japanese animation "cartoons", that's fine (in fact, I find myself calling the two par separate names, as well).
BUT... they need to be aware of the inevitable truth that animé is indeed a form of cartoons.

Kind of :P but mostly i just ignore it,after all its basically "Japanese Cartoons"...although my mom sometimes calls it with its name (anime) and sometimes says cartoons,but for some reason i feel all flustered when she says that to my face after discovering me watching...well,i guess that's a natural instinct since i'm mostly known over here for being "Serious Mc Serious"...but anyway,yeah...i ignore and she eventually leaves me alone...oh,and i don't recall my dad ever calling them either because he's mostly at work,only going accueil on weekends.

Well, I'm one of the people who don't get it why are there so many animé fans who gets so furious when someone calls animé a "cartoon" because like what other people have stated above, animé is another form of cartoon and the fact that animé is the short word for "animation" and that most Japanese people call everything that is animated as "anime" which that includes western dessins animés too, so toi need to understand that Japanese people are different people and use the word "anime" to refer about animation in general while the rest of the world only refer the ones that were made in Japan, but I don't care if toi disagree with me as long toi can handle and accept my opinion on this "anime is not a cartoon" débats back which I found it to be dumb and ridiculous in my opinion and view, but I can handle your opinion back even if toi disagree with me as I know that each people have different opinions, vues and beliefs about something that they like, so I'm fine with that.
