What is your favori genre of animé and why?

(Personally, I enjoy slice of life anime, because they often seem to have the kind of humor I enjoy, as well as themes and events that toi can imagine happening in your own life... it is the idea of the fake, yet not-fake, reality that intrigues me... the fact that it isn't real, yet shows so many themes from the world today. Plus, the theme of friendship is very often big in these kind of anime, ou other kinds of relationships, where strong feelings are involved, which are often portrayed very well, like in Usagi Drop, the relationship between Daikichi and Rin, ou in K-On, the friendship between the members of Hokago thé Time and the way that they relate to one another, ou even the sisterly relationship, in it, between Ui and Yui.
What is your favori genre of animé and why?

And I l’amour how it really makes toi think so much that toi literally become a little smarter than toi were before. It gives toi creeps, keeps toi on the edge of your seat, and sometimes toi just have no idea what's going on which is one of the best feelings really. There isn't a single psychological animé I haven't liked so far.

Freaked me out but I have no regrets XD And some of my most favori animé is psychological. Death Note, Higurashi, Madoka Magica, Shiki, I l’amour them all~! Just the way it always messes with your mind and gives toi so much suspense I find really interesting. And I l’amour how it really makes toi think so much that toi literally become a little smarter than toi were before. It gives toi creeps, keeps toi on the edge of your seat, and sometimes toi just have no idea what's going on which is one of the best feelings really. There isn't a single psychological animé I haven't liked so far.

Supernatural wins the prize for me. No matter how I look at it, every animé that I like has some measure of Supernatural in it. Magic, esp, demons, sci-fi, etc...I l’amour it all. I like psychological and several slices of life, but I l’amour to see it all combined with Supernatural themes that take imagination to a new level. The ideas I've seen from this genre have really been impressive. Even in cases where the story was bad, I still got inspiration from the abilities and powers they incorporated into the story.

I don't know if I could possibly pick. Action is pretty huge, and I like some measure of fantaisie in there, but both of those are pretty loose, and I like a story that melds fantaisie well with a strong sense of realism. I like something deep and thoughtful, but I've recently found from watching Zetsuen no Tempest that there's a point at which it becomes too much.

So I'm realizing my answer is a non-answer. I have a few favoris for books, but some of the best I have yet to see done well in anime. So what do I like best? I guess the real genre I enjoy is adventure. I need a world to explore, something to feel immersed in. That's what has drawn me to so many of the animé I've watched, and frankly, it's the only thing that I find unchanging as an aspect of interest among my favorites.
