Robin hadn't known what to expect. Zatanna had told him to go talk to Wally. He had attempted to. But seeing the l’amour of his life s’embrasser someone they knew almost nothing about-Robin had freaked. He had let a small, sad whine escape him but had immediately rushed away. He had found Zatanna practicing in the missions room. She had smiled until she saw is face. As he slumped against a wall, she had come close. And with her gentle touch and her being so close...Robin couldn't resist. He'd kissed her. At first it was small pecks. But it had grown plus intimate and tender with every new one. So when he heard Wally say his name, Robin knew that Wally had seen them kissing.
“Robin?”
The Boy Wonder pulled free of Zatanna, looking at Wally. His best friend looked like a kicked puppy. But Robin felt like he'd been shot in the heart. So it was fair...right?
“Wally.”
“Robin...what...I mean-”
Zatanna slipped away, leaving the two alone.
“You were saying?” Robin asked bitterly.
“Why were toi s’embrasser her?!”
“Why not? toi kissed Artemis.”
“Yeah but-”
“But what? It was a one time thing? Like ninety percent of all your other relationships?”
“Kinda. But...”
“Why have toi been avoiding me?” Robin cut off.
“You haven't exactly been available.”
“I would be if toi talked to me! Instead of walking around and chatting with everyone else!”
“It's not like I want Zatanna over here all the time!”
“And I don't want toi jouer la comédie like toi hate me!”
Wally froze inside. What? He didn't hate Robin! Far from it!
“I don't hate you!”
“Sure. That's why toi act like I don't matter? I may be the youngest, but I'm smarter than all of you! I don't know why I'm on this team! toi never pay attention to me anyway!”
“It's hard to stay focused on a needy thirteen an old whose daddy won't let anyone else know you're technically an orphan!”
Wally was shocked par his own response. And Robin...he looked like he was going break. Robin took a deep breath and tears rushed down his paled cheeks. Wally rubbed his neck.
“Robin-”
“I can't believe I trusted you. I can't believe I let toi play me like this.”
“No Robin! I-”
“You-I can't believe I fell in l’amour with you. Well, if toi don't want me, fine. I don't need you. I don't need this team. I don't even need Batman! I hope this makes toi happy Wally. I quit!”
