"Nightfury, B08," announced the automated computer as the three of us transported back to the Cave, our hearts racing.
Batman was standing in front of the large computer screen, frowning at the news rapporter Summer Gleeson was giving. I didn't have to listen to it to remember what happened.
Batman looked at me, clearly troubled. "Did toi see where the blast came from before the explosion?"
I shook my head. "We were after these robbers when it happened. Nobody was in the alley when it occurred."
Again, he looked at the screen. Police cruisers and feu trucks were surrounding the hole, which looked fifty feet deep. Nothing was a dit in the suivant 30 minutes until Robin had appeared through the transporter. He was tapping his wristwatch computer screen rapidly.
"Batman, I got your call. Do toi think this attack is about--?" he looked up, surprised to see Aqualad, Superboy, and me standing there.
"About what?" I asked, hands at my hips.
He looked like he regretted his statement. "Nothing," he a dit quickly, looking at Batman for support.
You're hiding something, I accused mentally, forgetting for a divisé, split seconde that the others could hear too.
"What is there to hide?" he exclaimed, looking irritated.
"Hmph." I turned around and faced Batman. This was a first. In the four years we've been dating, I had believed that there was nothing to hide. But apparently, I was wrong.
"Erica, I--" Robin began.
"Call in the rest of the team. We're gonna need everybody here," Batman cut him.
Aqualad pressed his communicator, muttering instructions to our other teammates. Robin motioned over to the locker room, out of Superboy's hearing range.
"What's wrong?" he asked me, looking worried.
I glared at him. "Robin, I think we're at the point in this relationship that I'd know everything about you, and I think I do."
"Oh, come on! I tell toi everything!"
"Then what were toi telling Batman back there?" I demanded.
He sighed. "Erica, there's just some things that toi can't tell anybody. Batman's like my father--"
"And I'm just the girl waiting in the shadows," I snapped, walking back to the Mission Room, where Kid Flash, Megan, and Artemis had appeared. I heard footsteps behind me, which meant Robin was there.
Batman looked at us solemnly. "I'm going to transport toi all to the Bat Cave. There's a transporter there that will take toi to another dimension. There, Robin will explain the plan to you."
"Where is the Bat Cave?" I asked.
"That's something I can't tell you," Batman said. I gave Robin an additional glare.
"How are we supposed to get to the transporter if we can't get into the Bat Cave?" Kid Flash complained. I could tell he was as curious as me.
"You'll all be blindfolded," Batman said, opening a drawer and throwing a black piece of cloth in everyone's hands. "These are made of lead; even Superman can't see through them."
Megan patted Superboy gently on the shoulder. We all walked to the bioship, where we all tied our blindfolds on. I was under the impression that Batman was driving, because the ride was going faster than usual. The world was black in my eyes. The only sounds I could hear were the mental discussion of my teammates.
"Erica's upset," Megan confided. "Her Aura is burning with rage."
"I think Robin and her have been fighting," Superboy said.
Are toi all forgetting? I can hear you!
"This is no time for teenage drama," Batman a dit coldly, silencing us all.
