I slammed my fist on the desk. "It just doesn't make sense!"
Megan looked at me serenly. "What's wrong, Erica?"
I tucked a few strands of my hair behind my ears. "The fact that for one entire year, I haven't been able to find the suivant Avatar."
Suddenly, the mission cloche, bell rang. Megan floated in the air. "Wanna come?"
I sighed. "Sure." I followed her to the Mission room, ignoring the fact that I couldn't fly anymore.
Batman was tapping on the computer, as usual. "Erica, there's been readings of rainstorms and tornadoes over Berlin."
"So?" I pressed.
"So," he continued, "we have a theory that a Waterbender is gaining a lot of power. Wouldn't that be the Avatar?"
"Maybe."
"Mission?!" KF a dit impatiently.
I could've sworn I heard Batman chuckled. "You all are going to Berlin with Erica, to investigate that Waterbender. People are drowning in whirlpools almost everyday."
"Alright," Aqualad said. "Come on, team!" They all headed to the bioship.
Robin took my hand and led me to the terminal. The last time I'd been there was last year, when I flew in to see Jeannette...
I shook it off. The mission, I reminded. This is your first mission with the team after four years. Don't mess it up.
I sat down in a siège suivant to Robin, wondering how we got old so fast. In a few weeks, I would turn 21.
After a few hours, we landed in Berlin. Megan changed the bioship into camouflage mode, and we set off.
The sky was gray; toi couldn't see a piece of blue anywhere. We found ourselves at the coast, where police were posté everywhere.
"Excuse me!" I called, sliding down the sandy little hill.
The officer crouched in a defensive position. "Niemand ist berechtigt, hier zu sein!"
I looked to Robin for help.
He walked toward the officer, with his hands set in a formal gesture. "Wir sind Superhelden, und wir müssen das Ertrinken hier zu untersuchen."
The officer grunted, then let us through. From here, we could see a giant black whirlpool spewing from the ocean.
"What did toi say to him?" I whispered to Robin.
He laughed. "It doesn't matter."
I put my hands on my hips and looked around. "We need to find the source of the water," I told the team.
They all looked at me like I was mental.
I sighed. "We have to find the area where the clouds are headed," I pointed to the sky. "Then we'll have our target."
"Let's divisé, split up and look for clues!" KF suggested. "I'll go with Megan--"
"We need to divisé, split up according to everyone's advantages," I interrupted. Megan spared me a grateful glance.
Aqualad nodded. "Artemis and Kid, Megan, Robin, and me, and Erica with Superboy."
I tried my best to hide my displeasure. Great. Just great.
I took my binoculars out and searched the sky, while the rest of the team ran off in different directions. The cloudiest part of the sky was a few miles from here, but we could make it work.
I looked uneasily at Superboy. If I tempered him, I wouldn't have any powers to stop him from hurting me.

"Let's go," I muttered, running off.
