I could feel so much as just one burn. It singed my back, where my Airbending tatouages were located. Everything around me was white; like I was glued to a blank piece of paper.
Am I in Heaven? I took a step forward. Like a combination, a waterfall appeared, its roaring waters calming all the panic in my mind.
I flew downward, landing on nice green grass.
Yep. This is definitely Heaven. I laid down on the herbe and closed my eyes. I cleared my mind of everything; Roy, my family... It hurt too much to think of them.
"The Avatar..." a dit a rough voice.
I jumped up. "I know I've done some bad things but I saved a cat from a arbre once!"
"This is your first time meditating, is it?" a dit the voice.
I clapped my hand to my head. I was in the Spirit World! I felt stupid.
A bluish dragon emerged out of the water, its nostrils flaring in the mist.
I fought the urge to scream and run. "What happened?"
He slithered beside me, his giant face staring at me intently. "When the bomb went off, toi were close to dying. An Avatar's last resort before they die is going back to the Spirit World."
"So... I'm going to die?" I wondered if this was good ou bad.
"Maybe... and maybe not. It depends on what happens when toi go back to Earth."
I sat back down. "I literally wasted three years of my life. Now I'm going to die."
The dragon hissed. "But toi do have something to look vers l'avant, vers l’avant to back on Earth..."
"Like what?" I questioned.
The wind speed picked up, driving me out of the Spirit World. He didn't even answer me.
Well, I had a good run.
"Jeannette?" called a voice. "Oh, God, please don't be dead..." I felt warm tears run down my face.
My eyes opened slowly, finding a familiar redhead staring down at me with green eyes. "Roy?"
He looked relieved. "You're alive."
I sat up, realizing that we weren't alone. Familiar faces surrounded us, the faces I recognized as the people who helped me with the car bomb.
They all cheered, to my surprise.
I looked at Roy again. With my X-ray vision, I could see that he was crying behind his mask.
I wiped his eyes. "You're something."
He raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"You... and my family, are part of the reason why I was donné a seconde chance. If it weren't for you, I'd be dead right now."
He smiled crookedly. "Whatever that means, you're welcome."
And we shared this little moment, like there was no ending whatsoever.
