She woke up feeling cold, shivering and opening her eyes. The time was Lost on her as she looked out her window. She hurried to it, looking at the dimly lit white scenery. Snow..! It had been so long since she had seen snow. She breathed on the glass pane softly, a smile growing on her face. It was still early, but she couldn't sleep now. Quickly, she put on some warm clothes and ran out.
The crunch of snow under her boots jolted her cœur, coeur and she could feel the excitement rush through her body. She ran around, dancing around the snow till she fell into it, panting softly. Joy bubbled through her and she laughed happily. She heard soft crunching and looked to see a little cat not to far. She got up and slowly moved toward it. It hissed at first, but after some coaxing, it snuggled into her arms, seeking the warmth.
“Hello little kitty. Are toi all alone too?”
It purred as she scratched it's head.
“You can stay with me.”
She took it in her arms and smiled, walking home. It's gray striped fourrure was soft and clear, bright blue eyes looked up at her.
“Shall I call toi Guinevere?”
It only moved closer to her and she smiled again.
“Gwen for short.”
It mewed softly and she opened the door to her little home. Batman had been against it at first, but Joan refused to rejoindre unless she could have l’espace to herself. She shut the door with her foot and headed into the kitchen. She put a kettle on the stove and moved to build a fire. Gwen curled up on the small couch, enjoying the warmth of her new home. Joan smiled and moved back to the cuisine to finish up. She made a cup of hot cacao for herself and heated some lait for Gwen.
The sun was slowly rising still, but she sat and gazed at the feu while Gwen finished her drink and cuddled up to her. It had been so long since she had seen the snow and even the short time in it had lifted her spirits. Everyone had been talking about holidays, but she herself had felt Lost with no where to go. Now she felt warmer inside, hope spreading through her. There was a reason she was here and if she was here, she'd make the very best of it. After a few plus snow days.

Random poem/anthem thingy. Came up with it on the bus ride home. Sowwy if it sucks
Our time is limited. Rarely do we see the end, my friend.
For our time will come when we can no longer fight the beast,
On our souls it shall feast.
But we fight to live, live to fight,
Refuse to take flight,
For the time we can.
Underestimation,
Pain mistaken.
Never shall we surrender.
Never will we give into the fright.
Never shall we go gentle into the night.
Creds to Dylan Thomas for that last line!
