Have toi ever thought of a reason to stay inside for the day? Was it because toi felt sick, ou was it because toi were just too lazy to throw your legs over the side of the bed, get up, and start the day? Whichever answer toi choose, if it's toi feeling sick, ou toi being to lazy, ou because of a different reason, then tell me this: what have toi done that jour to feel good about yourself? Did toi clean your house because your family/guests are coming over? Did toi get up to make breakfast for a sibling? Did toi do anything besides watch the darkness of your eyelids flutter until toi finally drift off into a sleeping coma where nothing can wake toi until your brain pushes toi to the state of waking up? ou did toi just lay in bed, watch TV, get up to go to the bathroom and grab a few snacks and then get back into bed? Whatever your reason is for you, nothing but death can keep me in bed, and what do toi know. Death is keeping me in bed, and as I stare at my ceiling, listening to my cœur, coeur beat into my chest, I start to wonder how Jerek is taking all of this in. He isn't in the room, nor in the bathroom. He isn't downstairs with the rest of the alliance. He's...he's upstairs, in his actual bedroom bed, either sleeping, laying down, ou crying. Well, if I was jealous before, I surely wasn't now, and now I feel really bad for feeling jealous of Virona before.
"Alright," Tabra said, now in the doorway of the room I'm currently in. "Time to go talk to him."
"Yes it is." I said, and threw my legs over the bedside, rose to my feet, and headed for the stairs behind Tabra.
"How's he holding up?" I wondered outloud.
"He's...he's a mess." Tabra said, and stopped at the haut, retour au début of the stairs. "You go first."
And I did.
I made my way to the bedroom Jerek lay in, and I knocked three times on the door that was open just a crack, and I heard a quiet attempt at talking allow my entrance. Tabra stayed par the stairs, and as he let me talk to Jerek first, I was glad he did. I entered Jerek's room, and I saw him sitting on his bed, back turned to me, head lowered, his arms on the side of the bed. He was thinking. I could tell.
"Hi, it's me." I said, shutting the door behind me. "Do toi wanna' talk?"
He didn't move. He didn't turn to look at me, ou say anything. He just stayed in the same position. "No. I'm fine. I just want to be alone."
"Are toi sure? Because I can stay here with toi if toi want me to." I wanted to, but if it's what he wants...then I'll let him be.
He stayed in the same position again, not moving. Just thinking. "Cyd, I l’amour toi and all but...this is something I need to be alone for, okay?"
Whoa. "Okay, I'll be downstairs if toi need me."
"Bye." He said, and I spun on my heel and left the room.
"Is he okay?" Tabra asked me as I stopped at the basement door.
"No. He's a mess. He wants to be alone, so just let him be." I said, opened the door, and went down the steps.
I stopped halfway down them, wondering if Tabra was ever going to follow, and after a few beats of silence, I heard him make his way down them. I heard the door shut, and I continued down the rest of the stairs, and Tabra followed.
