“Let’s go back in the house Alice it’s getting too hot!” Cynthia moaned
“Alright” I a dit quietly as I picked my head up from being on haut, retour au début of my knees.
“Your going to have to race me again!” I a dit quickly, not giving my sister a head start.
I do declare that when I run I feel like I'm floating, I'm not sure where all this gracefulness came from, but I do enjoy running plus than anything. I reached the door and jumped into our wide open living room. There was my parents and the Middletons; William, his mother Anna, and father James. This cannot be a good thing. Nothing ever comes out good with all these adults in a room.
“Mary, William has come to talk to toi about something.”
“Alright, but first mother can I speak with you?” I a dit with a kindness but with the bitterest undertone
“Mother, please start calling me Alice, I’am very tried of repeating this with you!”
“I just feel that when we are around the Middletons we need to use toi proper, strong, upstanding name.” She a dit emotionless
“We need to try all we can to impress Will and his family.” She a dit as she pulled on the neck of my white laced afternoon dress. I knew the reason she was pulling on it was because this was one of my cheaper pieces of clothing. It was always the most comfortable, but pretty unsightly.
“Go, Go” my mother exclaimed shooing me off.
“Go change into something nicer that a man would enjoy seeing toi in.”
I was never going to win with my mother. Her sense of style and mine are like feu and ice. I changed into one of my considerable better afternoon dress. It was nude with dentelle and silk. With a purple, black and rose fleur on it. This will have to do it’s not like I really want to impress Will, but to please my mother and save me from her lifeless talks this will do. I skipped down the stairs watching the light brown cotton dance around my ankles. Will was waiting right at the bottom of the stairs away from all of our parents.
“Alice, toi look dashing if that’s proper of me to say.” He a dit with his subtle smile
“Yes, it is fine and thank toi for saying Alice.” I a dit with slight surprise in my voice.
“Your welcome” he a dit in a slight bow.
“Well, Alice I don’t know if toi have heard but my family is funding a new program in New York called the Miss America Pageant.” He announced with pride in his voice.
“No, I haven't heard, but continue.” I a dit uninterested
“Well, I was hoping toi would like to accompany me to it.” He a dit with uncertainty
“I would pay for everything the train ride, nourriture expense, and anything else toi need.”
“I would just…” he studdard
“I would really…like to have your company and no one else's.”
“Alice, your not…your not like the other girls I know.” He a dit looking at the floor.
“You have this spark in toi and your own personalty, toi don’t care about what anyone else thinks.” He a dit with a passion.
I was staying completely silence this whole time just soaking all this emotion Ive never heard come out of Will before. All of this was shocking. I was taken aback par the the emotion that was coming out of Will at this moment
“Please come with me.” He a dit begging
I read his face for a while trying to see if this all was a joke ou if he really meant all this? There was no sense of falseness.
“Okay, I’ll come.” I a dit putting on a smile that actually felt like it should be there.
“I’ll tell our parents and I’ll make sure toi have your train ticket!”
It was actually kind of cute of how excited he was it made me giggle. As I took a few steps down the last few stairs something happened. I felt this sensation in my stomach. I just kept hearing the word train, train, train in my head like a crank record player. Then I could see it as clear as jour in my head Will and I getting on the train. I could hear one of the rails of the track sounding loose as we got farther and farther away from home. Then I could see the train fly of the tracks. I gasped sucking all the air I could into my lungs. Something is going to happen…how am I going to tell someone all this.
