His penetrating gaze made me shiver, a mixture of fear and anticipation. Anticipation for what would happen next, now that he’s finally shown himself. Shown me that he is real - TOO REAL.

My nightmares didn’t give his ethereal face justice. His light hair shone like spun gold, his brows were arched aristocratically, his nose perfectly sculpted, his full lips almost femininely enticing. I saved the best for Last – his eyes. They were like blue fire.

Never have I seen such an enigmatic beautiful face. There is an air of arrogance around him. Yet somehow, he seemed melancholic, quiet, and reserved.

My cœur, coeur accelerated wildly while my mind rebelled.

Danger! Danger! A voice inside my head screamed like sirens.

I fought the trembles that shook my body. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from him. I was mesmerized.

My cell phone rang. I unwillingly dropped my eyes on the phone resting on the table, tableau beside my coke.

“Hi Aunt Alice!” I tried to make my voice cheerful. I threw a glance back at where he sat and saw him gone. He was nowhere in sight. Did I just dream him up again?

No. He’s real. He’s here. I heard his erratic heartbeats and smelled his scent – oleander and spearmint combined. Realization made my hands turn cold as ice while my blood panicked. He was like me. My very own kind – half vampire, half human.

“Is everything alright, Nessie?”

I scanned the entire room wildly. He was gone….

“Nessie?” Aunt Alice prompted.

“Everything’s great, Aunt Alice.” I a dit in a monotone.

“Hmmm…” was all I heard from the other line.

“I’m having dîner with my roommate, Jenny Rivers.” I hurriedly added.

She chuckled. “Got a friend already? That’s good. par the way, Rose wants to know how toi liked your dormitory.” Her laughter was like tinkling bells.

“Tell Aunt Rose the dorm was way beyond my wildest imagination.”

“Told toi the place is too prissy for her taste.” I could almost picture her sticking her tongue out to my beautiful Aunt.

“Alice, let me talk to her.”

The phone was handed to my mom. “How are you, darling?” I heard slight apprehension in her voice.

“Relax Mom. Everything is perfect.” I heard her sigh in relief.

“Why didn’t toi call us immediately?”

“Oh come on, Mom! I spent two hours hanging up all my clothes. My roommate even helped me out. Still, it took us two hours!” I groaned. “Please tell Aunt Alice that I sooo l’amour the skirts.” I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

My mom laughed.

“I practically don’t have anything suitable to wear!”

“Renesmee Carlie Cullen, how dare you!” I heard my Aunt hissed in the background. “Give the phone to me, Bella!”

“Uh-oh! Tell everyone I l’amour them, Mom. Tell Dad, I miss him already.”

“I miss toi too, Angel.” Dad a dit as soon as Mom handed him the phone.“For God’s sake Alice! Let me talk to my daughter.”

I laughed. “I think I have to get off the phone before Aunt Alice annoys toi too much.”

“Okay, Angel. I l’amour you. Call me.”

“I will, Daddy. I l’amour you, too. Tell them I miss them okay?”

I heard a bunch of ‘Miss you, Nessie.’ In the background and a loud petulant sigh that is no doubt from my tiny Aunt.

“Bye, Nessie.”

“Bye, Dad.”

I instantly felt home-sick. Jenny suggested to go back to the dorm as she observed the change in my mood. She insisted on paying the bill, claiming she did most of the eating anyway. We took another cab to the dormitory. I missed my spyder, too.

“Do toi know the hot guy who’s staring at you?”

“Huh?!”

“Oh come on, Nessie! Don’t play innocent with me. toi couldn’t keep your eyes away from him, too. It was like toi were drawn into each other, like nobody existed in that restaurant aside from the two of you.”

“No, I don’t know him. Do you?” I couln't hide my curiosity.

“Nope. But we’ll find out.” She vowed.

I don’t know if I really want to find out who he is.

I almost expected to see dozens of roses in my dorm room, but there were none. I climbed on my lit as soon as I stripped out of my jeans and haut, retour au début and changed into a baby-tee and pajamas.

Somewhere someone was playing the violin. The melody was sweet yet hauntingly melancholic. The musique lulled me to sleep.
