Why couldn't Jasper and Alice hear is was James who called Bella, in stead of her mom

first, Jasper wasn't in the room, he was in the lobby checking them out of the hotel, so they could déplacer to one closer to her mother's house

second, Alice wasn't paying attention to Bella's conversation, she was searching the future to try to figure out what was about to happen, she knew something was wrong, but she couldn't see what was coming yet, because Bella hadn't decided yet

They did see it coming in a way. Alice just only saw the ballet studio and not James calling Bella to lure her there.

Yes. I believe me and toi have the same doubt. Aren't vampires supposed to have the ability to hear things from far away, they would be able to recognize the difference between voiceS?
