I don't care if you don't think that they're not good reasons because to be honest if you like a character odds are if you're doing this, you probably don't think that there are any good reasons to hate him or her. If I don't like a character, I don't like that character. I'll say why because I think that you should have a reason to hate a character. TL;DR: the question itself is cool, it's when the person is an ass about it, that isn't cool. Also I'm lowkey with candylover; if you ask me about certain characters you're opening a can of worms.
