What's with all the 'character contests'?

They have stuff like "Round 1 fight 8: pick your LEAST favori character"
What's that about?

Yeah I've noticed that too, I've been voting on Bones, The Mentalist and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. I already know who's going to be the haut, retour au début two for Criminal Intent, but I'm continuing to vote just for the heck of it. However I do find it lots of fun.
