Harsh? Dude. toi asked me why I didn't like your icon, and I answered. I wasn't about to say "Oh, I don't know, I just don't like it." And it's not like I was even insulting YOU, just you're icon. I don't see any harshness. -_-
I'll just summarize what I'v been telling people for the past two months.
I know "emo people". People who want to end their lives, and will on the spot if triggered to do so. In fact, these people are my closest Friends whom I l’amour dearly. So attempting to put the term "emo" into humor is sick.

Not all emo kids are actually depressed. Actually, most aren't. And the ones who are are usually making themselves that way. So don't just say all emo people are awesome just because they're emo. Maybe your Friends are super awesome, that doesn't mean they all are.
When did I say "emo" people were awesome? I'v overheard my classmates saying my Friends were total bitches. But it doesn't matter to me, I care about them, so I'm sticking up for the them. My Friends believe hurting themselves is the easiest way to go to punish themselves for being "ugly" ou "overweight". I don't approve of it, I'm just saying others usually don't grasp the concept, therefore make fun of it as in the case of "Emo Elmo".
toi may be exagerating a little. There's a lot of sick things out there, "Stupid" is probably the word that would better describe your feelings. Sick is a little dramatic.
But what about small fans of Sesame Street. Having to see Sesame rue turned into rue Gangs ou emos. toi know where this is going. The pictures are bad influences.
