Chase ran in right away since Ameobic Meningitis was only contracted par water, and helped Mike up and onto the bed. Nurses rushed past House to help as he stood there looking at Mike.
He was elated that Rachel would get better, but he wanted to be the one to save her. Not the bastard that broke her heart. He shook his head and looked around the halls and then turned to head back into his office. The team had heard the news and had already left, leaving the office dark and empty. House continued into his office to the ottoman, laid down, and instantly was knocked out from exhaustion.

FEW DAYS LATER
Michael was laying unconscious in his hospital lit in a 2 person room. Rachel was in the suivant lit and was slowly waking up. Mike had been hit the hardest with the disease since he was sick after being left in the rain after being beat up and that had lowered his body's defense.
Rachel stirred and slowly opened her eyes, to quickly shut them again. The light was unwelcomed throught the open blinds. She groaned and tried to open them again, adjusting her eyes to the light. She slowly moved her hands up and down and wiggled her toes.
What had happened? Why was she in a hospital bed?
She lifted her hand up to her head and felt gauze wrapped around her forehead where the blood was drained.
She looked to her right and saw Mike in the suivant bed, but he wasn't awake.
What happened?
She pressed the nurse button par her side, and Chase walked in once again. This time elated that she was finally awake.
" salut Rachel! How are toi feeling?" He asked as he took out the pen light and checked her responses.
She waved his arm away and pointed to her throat for some water. Chase quickly poured out some water and handed it to her.
" I'm fine. What happened?" She a dit in a raspy voice after she drank the water.
" What's the last thing toi remember?" Chase a dit carefully, worried that she might have Amnesia.
" Collasping in the ou obsevatory room. House was there." She said, remembering the darkness comsume her and hearing House's voice.
But wait. Mike was in surgery.
" Is Mike okay?" She a dit worriedly.
Chase looked down for a seconde and then looked at his hands that were on the lit rail.
" We're not sure at the moment. He was awake, but really ill after toi fell. toi two were sick with the same thing, but we couldn't figure it out. Mike requested a laptop wanting to help." Chase paused and smiled. " He actually was the one who found out what toi had. Amoebic Meningitis."
Rachel looked down and jogged through her memory to remember what that is.
" We were swimming before he got hurt. That must've been how." She a dit after remembering.
" But how come i'm awake, but he's not?" She asked worriedly.
" When he found out what was wrong he stood up, which he shouldn't have, to get my attention. He blacked out after telling us and hit his head on the floor. He got a concussion. Right now, we're not sure if he is going to wake up okay." Chase a dit somberly.
Rachel looked over at Michael and saw the bandage wrapped around his head and the casts on his arm and all the bruises and sweat covering his body.
" Oh my god." Rachel whispered, looking over to Chase, who returned her look of worriedness.

I was lire up on opiate withdrawal and apparently toi can go through withdrawal not just to stop taking the drug, Vicodin in House’s case, but to reduce the amount you’re taking.
So in House’s case, like Wilson said; his Vicodin levels where way to high and so the only option was to let his body recover and reduce it’s need for that amount it got everyday.
Therefore, the suivant morning when he was seemingly better; it was because of the extreme cold-turkeyness that House used to reduce his levels of Vicodin in order for his hallucination of Amber to go away. So I don’t think it was a hallucination, because he hasn’t quit Vicodin, he has only reduced the amount he takes within the l’espace of a horrible 24 heure detox. His body no longer craves the Vicodin every heure ou so like before.
Short and simple :)
