Disclaimer: I do not own House ou the characters, however the story is mine.
Sooooooo sorry for the late update, but my life has been pretty hectic lately. Sorry if it seems aléatoire at points. So since all of toi voted for a confrontation thats what I'm gonna do. Let me know what toi think :)
-----
Cuddy walked back to her office with tears in her eyes. She told Lucas she wanted to be alone tonight and he had accepted that. She packed up her mallette, porte-documents and drove home.
When she got accueil she made quick work of checking on Rachel and then going to bed. As soon as her head hit the oreiller thoughts of House flooded her mind.
Why does he think he isn't my problem? Of course he is I care about him. Who am I kidding I plus than care about him. I'm gonna have to have a talk with him tomorrow.
And with that thought she fell asleep.
-----
House sat playing his piano at his and Wilson's new apartment. He couldn't understand what he was thinking saying that to Cuddy. He knew she'd end up wanting to talk to him and the fact she didn't follow him surprised him. He just figured he had to get a good nights sleep and he'd be able to deal with her confrontation tomorrow.
-----
The suivant Day
Cuddy walked into the hospital on time the suivant jour with her game face. She knew in order to talk to House she'd have to sort of corner him ou he'd run away ou make up an excuse. She figured she'd wait until after work to talk to him so he couldn't say he was busy with something. She gathered her morning messages and went to her office.
House on the other hand walked into the hospital late as usual. He didn't even stop to check for messages as he didn't want to have to deal with Cuddy. He looked towards the clinic and saw her signing files so he quickly went to the elevators and up to his office.
-----
5:00 p.m.
House was gathering up his things ready to leave. He was surprised Cuddy hadn't come up to confront him yet, but he wasn't sûr, sans danger yet as he hadn't actually left the hospital.
"House," Cuddy said.
Speak of the devil, House thought.
"Yes," House a dit as he turned around.
"Why would toi say what toi did yesterday," Cuddy asked as she walked up to him.
"I'm not sure what your referring to," House played dumb.
"You know what I'm talking about. Don't play dumb. Why would toi say something like that," Cuddy tried again.
"Because..." House trailed off as he looked down.
"Because," Cuddy encouraged.
"Because it's what I believe to be true. I'm not anyone's problem," House a dit as he looked Cuddy in the eye.
"House," Cuddy began with a sigh. "I'm your friend. Of course your my "problem" as toi say it. I care about you."
"That's just the thing. toi shouldn't care about me. All I'm gonna end up doing is hurting toi and it's not like I treat toi like the greatest friend," House a dit as he broke eye contact.
"I will admit toi have a dit things hurtful to me before, but it's not like toi actually meant it."
"But I have still a dit things hurtful. I'm just gonna end up doing it again. Your better off just letting this go and me," House a dit as he began to walk away.
Cuddy stuck her arm out before House could make it past her. She grabbed his arm and turned him around. She looked him straight in the eye with a confused look.
"Why do toi refuse to believe anyone cares about toi and is there for you," Cuddy asked.
"Because....anyone who I thought would always be there has left," House a dit as he looked away.
"What do toi mean? I'm right here. Wilson and toi live together so your friendship is obviously strong. Sure Stacy left, but who else left to convince toi no one cares," Cuddy asked with confusion.
"Your here physically Cuddy, but your not here emotionally. Your just trying to rest your guilt complex par convincing me someone cares. Stacy left and I accepted that cause I thought I had you. Wilson has left in the past and he came back. At some point everyone is gonna leave and I've accepted that," House a dit with honesty.
"House I'm not here to rest my guilt complex. Sure I feel bad that toi think no one cares, but that's not why I'm here. I came here to let toi know that I do care and that toi have people who care for you," Cuddy said. She chose to ignore the part where he thought he had her.
House knew she would avoid talking about it so he figured this was a good time to get away. "Ok then. Can I go now," House asked as he pointed at the door.
"No. Not until I'm convinced toi understand me," Cuddy a dit sternly.
"What are toi hoping to accomplish here Cuddy. I'm not gonna change. I'm always gonna be distant in some ways. I'm still gonna think people are idiots. I mean what is the purpose and don't give me the 'I want toi to know I care' line either," House asked as he looked at her.
"I just...I....," Cuddy trailed off.
"You just what Cuddy," House asked.
"I just want toi to understand toi have people there for you," Cuddy a dit unconvincingly.
"Uh huh sure toi do. toi can't even tell me the truth right now and toi want me to understand people are there for me. toi ignore my statement of me saying I thought I had you. So toi obviously don't want to go down that road which makes me curious. It's almost like it's a sore spot. Regretting not being there for me when I came back from Mayfield," House asked as he scrutinized her.
Cuddy looked away. "I don't regret my relationship with Lucas if that's what your implying."
"That's not what I was implying," House said.
"Sure toi weren't. toi haven't liked my relationship with him from jour one. So toi sit here and try to use it against me for not being there for you," Cuddy angrily replied. She had gotten walked closer to House in the process when she had started yelling at him.
"Yeah well I thought I would get back and toi would be there for me, but just like everyone else toi left. But what confuses me is why your here trying to convince me otherwise. Trouble in paradise?"
"No. Lucas and I aren't having any problems. I just wanted toi to understand people actually care, but I can see it got me no where."
"Guess not," House replied with a shrug.
"I care about toi House. I want toi to know I'm here for toi and toi are my "problem," as toi so lovingly put it, whether toi like it ou not."
"Ok then. Can I go," House asked again.
"What will it take to convince you?! Why won't toi believe me," Cuddy asked with frustration.
"Because toi already left. Your not here for me now Cuddy. It's kinda hard to believe toi care when toi aren't even here," House a dit as he looked her in the eyes to read her emotions.
Cuddy's breath left her in an instant. She couldn't believe he could say something like that! She had always been there for him. Through tritter, at his bedside after the accident, when Wilson left, and so much more! Yet he could stand here and say that she wasn't there for him.
"What are toi talking about! I've been there for toi after all the crazy stunts you've pulled. I sat at your bedside! How can toi sit here and say I'm not here for you," Cuddy yelled in his face.
House looked away. He just wanted to get away from here before he a dit something he didn't yet want to. It seemed that would be the only way to get her to believe him and leave him alone.
"You don't get it! I l’amour toi Cuddy! There I a dit it! I l’amour toi and when I got back after Mayfield and I was finally ready to have a relationship toi just pushed me away! Then I found out about your "secret" boyfriend and toi started to act like a complete stranger to me! It was almost like I didn't exist and toi just wanted me to go away! So what did I learn to accept? That toi had left just like everyone else. The person I thought of and trusted the most had left me just like everyone else did," House finally finished.
Cuddy sat there with tears in her eyes. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. Their timing was always off it seemed. She wanted him and he'd push her away and now he had finally admitted to loving her and wanting a relationship and she was with someone else. It was like they couldn't catch a break.
"House....," Cuddy began, but House cut her off.
"Don't Cuddy. I don't want to hear toi say toi l’amour me ou how we can't be together. I accepted that toi don't feel about me how I feel for toi and that we obviously won't have anything together. I've learned to let it go so toi don't need to worry," House said. He gave her one last look and walked out of his office and went home.
Cuddy just watched him leave and began to cry harder. She couldn't believe what was happening. After all this time House finally admitted to feeling something for her and she couldn't say it back. All because she seemed to "need" to have the perfect family instead of getting what she really wanted. A happy dysfunctional crazy spontaneous life with House and Rachel. Instead she had chose to settle for the "American dream."
Cuddy wiped the tears from her eyes and turned and walked out of House's office just wanting to go home. Thinking that maybe she should just accept that he was gone and that they would never be together, but the thought of not having him there hurt. She didn't want to hurt anymore. Maybe I can still fix this, she thought as she quickly walked to her office, grabbed her stuff, hurried out to her car, and headed towards House's apartment.

Yay ou nay? Let me know if I should continue! :)
When does l’amour become something we need, rather than something we want? l’amour was seen as something special a long time ago. Now l’amour is what we are expected to have with us everyday of our lives. l’amour is common currency when toi are a teenager, but turns to worthless pennies the older toi get. Do we not care about the substance of what l’amour was and not what it has been made into today par commercialisation from American films and télévision commercials and soap operas? Only when we experience l’amour for real, can we commentaire and judge others who are in Love. l’amour means something different to everyone. Not two people’s feeling of l’amour is the same. Why do we generalize, rationalize and compartmentalize Love? l’amour is and will continue to be an enigma. Only a handful of people will ever unlock it and witness its true beauty and essence. The essence we all crave.
Love.
Love.
