The nuclear power plant was/is in danger of implosion, and while this all happened a TSUNAMI was stirred up because of the hurricane. Minutes later, the earthquake unleashed a 23-foot (seven-meter) tsunami along the northeastern coast of Japan near the coastal city of Sendai in Miyagi prefecture. The quake was followed for hours by aftershocks. The U.S. Geological Survey said 124 were detected off Japan's main island of Honshu, 111 of them of magnitude 5.0 or greater. The waves that headed for California were 6-7 feet tall.
A 10m wave struck Sendai, deluging farmland and sweeping cars across the airport's runway. Fires broke out in the centre of the city. The tsunami rolled across the Pacific at 800km/h (500mph) - as fast as a jetliner - before hitting Hawaii and the US West Coast, but there were no reports of major damage from those regions.
Tsunami waves swamped Hawaii beaches and severely damaged harbors in California after devastating Japan and sparking evacuations throughout the Pacific. American troops went to help those in Japan and Hawaii. This all took place around dawn Friday March 11, 2011.
I hope and pray the japanese will recover from this lost, and that Japan heals. God rest those poor unfortunate souls...

I've also heard from a friend that the Japanese don't like when we draw Kiku regarding the tsunami and earthquake. Oh our poor otaku love is being rejected by them, but we will still show our love! My heart goes out to Japan. T_T
:'(
Holy canoli, he's gonna appear glowing neon green in the anime if not in a coma... :(
( Extreme Japan Fangirl )
(I even saw an American broadcast on the news repeating over and over that the American troops stationed in Japan were all safe, but they didn't mention the actual Japanese once! I was furious. Thankfully, not all Americans are like that.)
My mom even told me that the Japanese didn't steal any food from stores after the earthquake, and instead bought it.
I personally love the pictures and fanart for this and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside for all the support to my country. ^_^
I'm also a quarter japanese and had a friend who had relatives in Japan when that happened. I cried with her when we talked about it in school. :'( But then I helped organize a school jog with her that raised a lot of money! But i didn't know about Hetalia when this happened, but i still cared for Japan deeply because i really enjoy the culture. If i had known of Hetalia, i would have cried BUCKETS more tears at home.
AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR THE PRESENT MOTHER NATURE! >8(
May you recover from your loss, Japan, and may all the victims rest safely in peace...
