Why aren't there many MALE Hetalia fans (much plus cosplayers)?

toi have a good point. Hetalia is basically a parody of the world's history. However, toi have to consider how people come to discover the anime. They might stumble across it on animé streaming sites, where there is usually strictly the montrer itself. No fan bias is usually present. They might discover it par seeing fan art on sites like Tumblr ou Zerochan. What I think is going on is many potential male fans are scared off par fan art, which a great deal of it is pairings. It probably makes them think Hetalia is a yaoi. However, if toi are already a fan and have seen all of the animé and/or read all of the manga, toi know it's not. But that's a hard thing for them to get past.
So I say if toi are trying to get a male friend to rejoindre the fandom, keep them away from the fan art. At least until toi get them to finish the anime. That way they realize it's just the fans having fun and not an actual part of the show.
And I'm not saying all the fan art is aimed at the female audience, there's a great deal of awesome art out there. But toi know how alot of guys are. Gotta stay tough looking. XP

XD Well 2 out of 4 of mein Bruders are fanboys of Hetalia~! We cosplay all da the ^w^ I wouldn't say that it's weird~! Hetalia is funny and makes history fun again~! It doesn't matter if your a bro ou a sis~HETALIA!! It's FUNNEH~! XDD

Well I know two guys who like it, but they're fairly young. The one other dude friend I got to watch it doesn't like it much because with the history theme going, he thought there would be some sort of fighting. Instead he got silliness and shounen-ai. It really is a girls show, being a world of all good looking guys. Now if it had been all big-boobed, air-headed chicks, there would be waaaaay plus guy fans.

i personally think that guys dont watch it because they just are not as exposed to it. then again my Hetalia group has 7 members and 3 of them are guys who like it because of the comedy. (they are our Switzerland, our America, and our Sealand)

I have a brother how loves Hetalia and does cosplay. He usually does Spain ou France. He also likes yaoi too. I'm sure there are a lot of other fanboys like him out there too, they're just shyer than fangirls.

In my opoini,(our how ever toi spell it)is because there's so many male charcters in the show.

I believe that it is become the fandom.The fandom is mostly yaoi,pairings and how hot the guys are.I'm sure if the fandom hadn't gotten so men based,that plus male fans would hop on.Also,how dedicated how the female fans get scares away male fans.For instance,at my cousin's school,the female fans are absolutely obessesed,and do many things for the montrer that scraes my cosuin.So,now he wont even watch the show.(For his sake,I try to keep Hetalia away from him.)I mewn,a fandom with pictures like these would scare away any guy!(Its soft yaoi---but it is yaoi!And it might just be me,but it looks like Su-san is grabbing Finland's butt!))

Probably the fandom. There's so much yaoi in the fandom that when dudes ran into the fandom, they assumed the anime/webcomic itself was also a yaoi? ou it might be because it's not badass enough ou something. Shit, that's the best answer I can give.
