Harry Potter Article: Is this really the end?

Since the 7th book is out and has probably been read par most of the Harry Potter fans, does this really mean that the Potter mania is over? When I finished the book, I immediately reread it just trick to myself into thinking it wasn't over. For a while I was in a state of Potter denial. I kept thinking that it's not over and there will be loads plus livres after the 7th. I have finally realized that it's over and done with. But it got me thinking.

Will we ever have another great series like Harry Potter?

It's possible that we might not see another great series for 5, 10, ou even 20 years. It might not be as good as Harry Potter, but there's hope.

But maybe we won't have to wait. Maybe the Potter mania isn't really over. With Fanfic, Fanart, Wizard Rock and everything wizard related the Potter legacy still continues. So, maybe it isn't the end.

kathiria82 Well I'm convinced that the books are done but definitely not Potter mania. We still have the last two movies to look forward to so that will make Potter mania last for some time. In my opinion true fans will find a way to help Harry Potter live forever. ;)

caintil31 actually a little bit before the release of book 7, I started a potter wall. I have movie posters(two of them are in a different language), photos of cast members, articles from magazines, I even have the black family tree.

ingercarin I think this is almost the end. Rowling has said that she will not write anything more about Harry, but she has also said that she will write an encyclopedia-ish book about the stories of the other characters in the books. I think it could be possible for her to continue writing about the Hogwarts-universe, there could be other stories, and other main characters:)

dlyteful I think it would be interesting for her to write about the next generation, Harry & Ginny's children, Ron & Hermione's, Draco's....that would be cool. The ending was vague but based on Albus' question of why is everyone staring at them it would be interesting to know how much and what they shared with their children about the Order and Voldemort.

slytherin360 she should write about the black family! i find it so interesting lol. or the death eaters perspective! that would be great. :)

Mizzsweety Im pretty disapointed that its over as I only just started to like harry potter when the deathly hallows part 2 came out. I agree with dlyteful, I would be really interested to see what happens with the children.

The Weasley family has an owl named Errol and it's very old; it's moulting, and so exhausted that it can't even stand up after a flight - In fact it often downright loses consciousness after both long and short flights. If it even gets to where it's sent, because its eye vision has gotten so poor that it hits objects as it flies, which also can make it lose consciousness and could even kill it. Still the Weasley's keep using it for delievering their mail. In addition, their youngest son shows no compassion to it, calling it a "bloody bird", "menace" and "pathetic". The name of the rue where the Dursleys live is a reference to that most suburban plant, the troène, privet bush, which makes neat hedges around many English gardens. I liked the associations with both suburbia and enclosure, the Dursleys being so smugly middle class, and so determinedly separate from the wizarding world. The name of their area is 'Little Whinging', which again sounds appropriately parochial and sniffy, 'whinging' being a colloquial term for 'complaining ou whining' in British English.
