This is a very short article because it was merely a thought. Therefore it is not formatted correctly and probably has some punctuation/spelling/grammar/sentence structure mistakes. I am sorry in advance.

I was re-reading the Goblet of Fire, and I came across this quote:

'"I was saying, my dear, that toi were clearly born under the baleful influence of Saturn," a dit Professor Trelawney, a faint note for resentment in her voice at the fact that he had obviously not been hanging on her words.
"Born under -- what, worry?" a dit Harry.
"Saturn, dear, the planet Saturn!" a dit Professor Trelawney, sounding definitely irritated that he wasn't riveted par this news. "I was saying Saturn was surely in a position of power in the heavens at the moment of your birth... your dark hair... your mean stature... tragic losses so young in life... I think I'm right in saying, my dear, that toi were born in mid-winter?"
"No," a dit Harry, "I was born in July."'

Now, toi may have had a different experience, but when I first read this I laughed, at Harry's reply as well as the fact it seemed confirmation that apart from a few bright spots Trelawney seems a complete fraud. But on re-reading many years and obsession with Voldemort later, I realised something:

Harry, at this point, has part of Voldemort's soul in him, right?

Voldemort had, in his youth, dark hair, a mean stature, tragic losses young in life, and, most importantly, he was born on December 31st, which definitely constitutes as mid-winter.

Now, apart from montrer masterful plot construction par Jo Rowling, it also shows that there is a large part of Harry, that divination and the art of lire ones sub-conscious and therefore soul can detect, is centred around Voldemort's influence. Harry himself wonders about this in the Chamber of Secrets - how similar he is to Voldemort, and Dumbledore réponses that Voldemort imparted some of his traits to Harry when he tried to kill him as a baby.

It just made me wonder - how much of the Harry we grew up with, lire about and, in the end, caring about to the extent of (in friendly/familial sense) loving, was Voldemort? How many of his traits, save Parseltongue, are part of who he was actually born to be? And after he is rid of his soul, does he lose these traits? If so, who is Harry, because it seems like in that case, we wouldn't actually know him?

Sorry, aléatoire thought splurge, it's just the idea that we didn't know grown-up Harry sort of distressed me and I wondered what the greater fan community thought. Normally I would let it go (I haven't been on fanpop for a long time) but I kept on lire how he threw of the Imperius and the voices that told him to stop speaking inside of him (which reminded me of the horcruxs - I wondered whether he could through it off so easily not because he has undeniable incredibly strength of will but also because the part of the Voldemort's soul within him a) wasn't affected par the Imperius and b) does not want to be controlled?), and other things such as his temper and his power but lack of complimentary brillance... I don't know... I merely had to write down my thoughts :)

Also, I'm sorry if I offended any die-hard Harry-fans. Make no mistake, I l’amour Harry, and he does have very great strength of will, but whilst not stupid and really quite bright he is not, par any stretch of the imagination, on Voldemort's intelligence/power wave-length. That's sort of the point, though, isn't it? He wasn't, but he made the right choices, his cœur, coeur was full of l’amour and that gave him a strength and a power Voldemort's couldn't understand....

I'll shut up now.

"A Look Back at HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE" (2005)

With the fifth installment of the HARRY POTTER movie franchise ("HARRY POTTER and the Order of the Phoenix") about to be released, I thought this would be a great time to look back at its predecessor - "HARRY POTTER and the Goblet of Fire". When the latter was first released in November 2005, many had hailed it as the best of the four HARRY POTTER movies. I wish I could have agreed with that assessment of Goblet of Fire. I really wish I could. But . . . I can't. I'm sorry, but I consider "Goblet of Fire" the weakest of the four movies....
