The guests were, Kiva, Rune, Monique, Bandit, Mech-Skipper, Lexii, Dylan and Kyle. None of the others CC had asked could come. She didn't mind; thirteen people, including herself and the penguins, was enough.
CC was gently shaken awake. She opened her eyes and saw Kowalski suivant to her.
"Come and help me wake the others," he said. CC stood up, and rolled up her sleeping beg. She would be needing it. She had donné Kowalski the address of an old, abandoned house, a few kilometres from her own house. It was in fairly good condition, from what she could remember.
She and Kowalski moved around the group, waking up animaux and telling them to get their sleeping bags packed up, to be in the plane. Breakfast was to be served during the flight.
It was 5:30, par the time everyone was seated and buckled up. Kowalski and Skipper sat in the cockpit. Kowalski picked up the intercom.
"Alright, passengers," he said. "Please, buckle your seatbelts, keep your chairs in the upright postion, and turn off all mobile phones, and other electronic devices.
"We don't HAVE any mobile phones, ou other electronic devices," Monique pointed out.
"What about me?" Mech-Skipper asked. Kowalski heard him from the cockpit.
"You're fine, Mech-Skipper," he a dit in the intercom.
"Feel free to shut down to save energy during the flight," CC added, who was sitting at the window, on the siège suivant to him. Lexii sat on the other side of Mech-Skipper.
"We are now taking off." Kowalski continued.
"Don't toi have to get permission from the control tower?" Kyle asked.
"There is no control tower," Skipper had snatched the intercom mic from Kowalski. "Are we gonna get this montrer in the clouds, ou what?"
"We have lift off!" Kiva cried, as the plane climbed into the sky.
CC gazed out the window, her face pressed against the glass. The morning winter sun was rising, above the clouds. Everything was tinged or from it's rays. She gasped. She could smell the morning air from inside the plane. She turned to Mech-Skipper.
"Isn't that one of the most beautiful things you've ever seen?" she asked.
"It is very beautiful," Mech-Skipper agreed. Lexii leaned over him to get a better look.
"Everything looks so golden."
Rune, who had been alseep the whole time, CC had carried her onto the plane, woke up and also gazed out the window. She bounced up and down excitedly in her seat.
"Rune, do toi mind?" Dylan said. "I'm trying to read my book here."
"That's ok," Rune replied, still bouncing. "You're not bothering me." Dylan and Kyle rolled their eyes.
Soon, the winter days, of New York city, changed to summer, of Western Australia. It wasn't a long flight.
Kowalski sat, steering the plane. He hummed to himself. Skipper slept on the siège beside him. Suddenly, a loud clang woke him up with a start. Kowalski jumped.
"Kowalski. what was that?" Skipper asked, sitting up in his seat.
"It appears we just Lost our propeller, Skipper," Kowalski explained.
"WHAT?" Skipper boomed. "That means..."
"We're going down..."
