An Open Apology... and Some Gripes

It has come to my attention that my gift for words has been failing me miserably these past few days. What I mean to impart is coming off as bitchiness rather than humerous ou helpful.

For that, I want to apologize. Especially to Harold, who works hard for this site and didn't deserve to feel like he was under attack at all. I'm an idiot. I would offer to smooch and make up, but I'm too old to be getting beat up par anyone's wife...

A Guide to Making a Club

Since some people seem to be asking this question a lot, here is an easy step par step guide to making a club.

First, go to the haut, retour au début of any page toi are on. toi will see the words fanpop! what are toi a fan of? toi will have to click on it.

It will take toi to the main page as shown below. Where toi will see different topics being shown. If toi look to your right, toi will see the quizz polls.

Just scroll down until toi reach the bottom of the quizz question, toi will see a button that says Create a New Club Click it to continue.

Fanpop- Home, Sweet Home!

When I first clicked onto Fanpop, I felt like something was a little different. It wasn't like MySpace ou YouTube (not that I have anything against the people who use them), where I normally get the feeling that people I don't know are looking at my profile. I felt like I could message the users on here and not get a rude ou creepy message back. I could comment, rate, and make picks without anyone (besides the occasional bad-mannered user) commenting on my own opinions. I could add things and feel really great when someone else gave me hommages ou commenté on how thankful they were for that item. And, I am so glad that fanpop has stayed this way! I feel so comfortable on here and only know 4 other fanpoppers in real life. I just wanted to compliment all of the wonderful users on how great they are on making this an awesome site to be on! toi are all part of the reason I am now very addicted to Fanpop!

Have toi ever gone to a spot and seen 3 liens with the exact same title? Have toi ever seen a video of an annual event and wondered if it was from this an ou last years show? Gone through a whole video on a spot and wondered why it was there? The problem is generic titling. There is a very simple solution for this that I will explain to toi and help toi put into play in your everyday Fanpopping.

Have I read this article before??? I just can't tell with this generic title!

When I first started on fanpop I didn't exactly know what fanpop really was, I just was on fanpop so I could see vidéos of my favourite tv shows.
But then I noticed that toi could do other things like answering picks and I started to do that.
Some picks made me laugh really hard, other made me think about things that I've never really thought about.
I did that for a while and it was (and still is) really fun to do and then I began to notice that when I couldn't sleep, ou just was bored, I was making picks in my head.

IM and Chat are Back!

This is a quick guide to using the new IM and Chat beta launch.

Rooms Tab:
The global-chat is open to all registered fans.

There is another room that is reserved for users of a certain level, and you'll also see that in the Rooms tab. In the past, we've had a few aléatoire people come in and hit on the people in the chat rooms, so the reserved room should be relatively free of such riff-raff.

Contact Tab:
Setting custom status messages: click on the pencil, and type away!

Turning off chat: Click on the bubble suivant to "I am online" and click on the red "Log out" option on the menu.

I had actually planned on making an article about fanpop a few months il y a and never had time and I still don't.
So instead of me just going into it full force detail like I planned I'm just gonna skim through it.
I'm écriture this because I've been on fanpop since 2011 and it has been amazing, but in the past an ou so fanpop has turned into a ghost town. It's so bad even some of the biggest clubs aren't really active anymore.
It really makes me upset because I can't even go to most of the clubs that I use to visit because...

A fanpop Challenge: Pending Spots

As most of toi know, there is a special holding pen for newly-created spots -- the link arena. Spots remain there until:
a) they have a significant amount of links, vidéos & images
b) there are enough fans to deem it populaire ... ou at least raise its status out of the 'geek stuck in the trash can' level.

Often I roam around, looking at these new creations, trying to help out those poor spots that have no videos, links, picks, ou images to their name. But there are still spots there that were born over a an il y a with little to no liens to make it interesting enough to join.

I heart pick additions! Truly!

Just out of curiousity, how do people feel when they've created a pick, find pictures, spell- and grammar-proof the question, finally send it out to the world -- and two weeks later discover new choices that r ovrwhielminley mispeled, say "all of the above" ou "none of the above", ou are green numbers among all of the pretty pictures?

Well, toi can read between the lines for my opinion. But I don't know whether this is a personal irritant ou whether many plus besides me feel this way.

Of course, there is a time and place for everything. Crazy_chica added a "None of the above" option to my link...

Why is it on images that there are so many plus vues than there are people who rated it? It makes me really sad, because I like to see what people think of the content I add. Now, I realize that there are people who view images a plus than once, but what I don't understand is when some of my images have 87 vues and only 2 people (one of which is me) who rated it. In the past I used to be guilty of this, however after adding a lot of content I realized that how good it made me feel when people took the 2 secondes it takes to rate my content.
