Duncan’s POV: I miss her. I l’amour her. Does she remember me? Of course she does, you’re the one who broke her cœur, coeur into a million pieces. I sat in the living room and looked outside as the snow fell down hard. (It was winter)
“What are toi looking at?” my sister, Nikki, asked.
“Nothing.”I said.
“Don’t tell me you’re still upset about the whole Courtney thing. Are you?” Nikki said.
“You don’t get it Nikki. I was the one she fell for, I was the one she loved, and I was the one who broke her heart.”I said.
“You’re right. I don’t get it. And I really don’t wanna get it. And I don’t care how sad toi are. But toi need to get off your lazy butt and shovel the snow off the driveway.” Nikki a dit and walked upstairs.
I took the shovel from the garage and walked outside to the driveway. When I took my first step on the ice, I slipped and fell on my butt but I got back up and started shoveling. After 30 minutes, I kept hearing moans of pain. I looked around but didn’t see anything. The suivant time I heard it, I looked at the old oak arbre suivant door. Then my cœur, coeur stopped when I saw what was under the tree. It was Courtney laying in the snow all cut up and bleeding. I ran over to her almost slipping. When I got to her, I picked her up and took her into the house. I took Courtney into the living room and layed her down on the couch.
“Oh my God! What did toi do?!”Nikki screamed.
“I didn’t do anything! Just call for some help!”I yelled.
When the ambulance came, they took Courtney to the hospital as I never left her side.
Two days later, I took Courtney back to my house. We didn’t say a word to each other. As bad as I wanted to look at her, I didn’t thinking that our eyes might meet. When we got back to my house, we walked up the driveway (I have a really long driveway) as I asked, “Do toi wanna talk about it?”
“No.”Courtney a dit almost immediately.
“Okay.”I a dit and kept walking.
“Um. Thanks for taking care of me. I’ll call somebody to come pick me up ou something.”Courtney said.
“Okay.”I said.
“Do toi even care if I leave?”Courtney asked.
“Yes. I do.”I said.
When we got to the front door and before I opened the door, Courtney stopped me and gave me a heartfelt hug. I was about to hug her back but she had already let go of me. I opened the door and held it open for Courtney. She walked in as Nikki said, “Here comes trouble.”
“She’s not like that anymore Nikki.”I a dit closing the door.
“Like what Duncan?”Courtney asked.
It was the first time she’d a dit my name in almost 2 years.
“Uh, toi just haven’t been yourself in a while.”I said.
“Nice save.”Nikki mouthed at me.
I rolled my eyes and said, “Um, make yourself at home.”
“So, uh, where’s she gonna sleep? Cause toi and I both know that she’s not sleeping with me.”Nikki said.
“She’ll sleep in my room. I’ll sleep on the couch.”I said.
“No, I’ll sleep on the couch.”Courtney said.
“Trust me Courtney. My dog sleeps on the canapé and I don’t think toi wanna sleep on the canapé with my dog.”I said.
“If toi say so.”Courtney said.
“I’ll montrer toi where my room is.”I a dit and walked upstairs with Courtney behind me.
I walked all the way down the hallway and to the right.
“Well this is it.”I said.
“Thank you, Duncan.”Courtney said.
“You’re welcome.”I said.
Courtney sat down on my lit as I walked toward the door and turned to shut it.
“Good night.”Courtney said.
“Night.”I a dit and shut the door.
