Merida has character flaws that are addressed in the film while Ariel doesn't seem to learn much. And if she did then it's largely glossed over. The whole point of Brave is Merida and Elinor learning about each other.

I think your wording confuses people... I assumed you meant which COLOR is best like mhs but everyone else thinks you mean which redhead HERSELF is.

Hhm, let's see. Merida does a stupid and crazy thing, but learns from it and goes through character development trying to change her ways, and becomes selfless over time doing anything for her family, full-out apologizing. Ariel never changed at all, going a 'bout like she's a hot thing and expects people to change for her, while also doing everything for her. She gets her happy ending and BOOM, ba-bye family.
So, Merida BY FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR.

And if the question is hair color, Ariel has a sickening tomato paste color.

I like both her character and her hair more.

Merida is more interesting than Ariel.
