At the end of the first season, Dan and Runo are shown to be going on a rendez-vous amoureux, date to the movies. Add to it that they are shown in précédant episodes holding hands a lot of times which is considered a huge deal in Japanese culture (Don't forget the hearts around them when they joined both hands for the final battle) then Yes, I would say they are in l’amour par the end of the first season.
