Okay so this is basically our time, but in the united states. What happened was that Katara actually kept a diary about her life and some historians found it on a small island close to Japan. The historians gave it to some movie directors, and they created the animé cartoon, Avatar the last airbender, based off Katara's diary. Now its 2010 and there are still benders around, but they keep their powers a secret because of the Nickolodean cartoon show, and because if anyone found a bender, they would be put in Jail. This all means that there is a modern jour Avatar as well. But all the modern jour bender's haven't seen another Avatar ever since Avatar Joshua, an earth bender that traveled with Luis and Clark across the USA.
Chapter one: Middle School History Class
The loud beeping sound of my alarm clock woke me up and made me fall off my bed. It was Monday morning, and I was a half an heure late to the bus. Crap. I was so gonna be late for school. I looked out my frosted window and saw a white blanket of snow on our backyard. Usually kids would be excited for Snow. Me, I can't enjoy snow at all. Well first of all, I live in New York, snow won't get us out of school. And seconde of all, every time I touch snow, it immediately melts into a small warm puddle of water that. So I can't play with snow. Yep, I'm a feu Bender, living in Snowy old New York. My twin sister on the other hand loves snow. She's a water bender.
I scrambled out of lit and pulled on some jeans, and a red T-shirt. I ran into the bathroom and brushed my shoulder length brown hair for about 2 seconds. Then I got the tooth brush and brushed for about 5 seconds.
I speedily stomped down the stairs into the cuisine where my 3-year-old brother was in nothing but a diaper on, and spinning on an air ball, making faces at my older brother Zach as he ate his oatmeal.
"Mom, why is Jason air bending? Someone could walk in at any moment!!" I a dit as I grabbed my bag and a banana.
"Jason is three. He doesn't know any better! Now hurry up and get to school!" my mom answered as she scrubbed some dishes.
"I can't drive!"
"Then have Zach take you!"
"NO!!!" Zach said, looking up from his oatmeal.
"NOW!" My mom yelled as she picked up Jason to wipe his face.
Zach got up in a rush and ran outside. I followed him out to his old beat up black truck. Being seventeen and all, Zach has his problems.
We hopped into the big truck and Zach turned the key into the ignition. The engine roared as we backed up from the drive way.
I looked at my older brother's shaggy brown hair and big brown eyes. He thought he was so hot. All I saw was a stupid, annoying teenage feu bender who thought he was just perfect.
When we finally reached Jackson Middle School, I jumped out of the car, glad to leave Zach. In the front office Mrs. Carsten sat at the front desk. Her grey bun and round glasses made her look like a nice old lady, but when I walked in she just smirked at my messy hair and turned to talk to me.
"So toi trying to make me mad, ou did toi sleep in?" she asked in a voice of delight for me being late. I trembled as I answered,
"I slept in."
"Well, first period has started and toi better fill in this tardy sheet." she said, handing me a rose square slip. I filled it out and left the office. I ran to my locker and stuffed my bag into it as I scurried to get to my suivant class.
First Period for me was social studies in Mrs. Jonson's class. I ran in to find millions of thirteen an old eyes staring at me. I blushed and ran to my siège suivant to Hayden. She was the only other bender besides my family that I knew. She was a water bender, but even though our bending types are opposites, Hayden and I are extremely alike.
"Did toi sleep in?" Hayden asked.
"Yea. What are we learning about?"
"Aztecs."
"I hate Aztecs!!"
It was true. I hate Aztecs. For one reason because they are extremely violent and they l’amour killing. Another reason why I hated Aztecs was because everyone a dit they had a great, amazing empire that made them unstoppable. But I knew a secret that everyone else didn't. The Aztecs were some of the greatest feu benders imaginable, but they used there power for violence. Like my stupid great great great (plus a million plus greats) grandfather feu Lord Ozai. Uncle Ozai was violent and stupid. The cartoon on Nickolodean sure got the evilness of my great uncle right.
Through the period I groaned at everything the teacher said, making the Aztecs seem like an amazing people. Hayden and I smirked, for we knew the truth.
As we filled out a paper, I thought about my family. It seemed weird that my family was half Chinese, half american. My father was born in China, thats how we are related to the feu lords. So my dad is a feu bender. My mom is american, but she is an earth bender, like my aunt. I have three brothers, and two sisters. Zach is a feu bender like me. Eli, my other brother, is an earth bender. My twin, Samantha, is a water bender. Lillian, isn't a bender. And Jason, as toi know is an air bender.
I turned around to look at the clock. The cloche, bell made it's normal loud annoying ringing sound that told us to go to our suivant period. I moved my chair. I was glad to leave that social studies room.
