rushed, no character development, and was just not a good anime adaptation of the game overall. somehow it managed to rush through the entire plot while still feeling extremely slow and boring. the game is a million times better than the anime will ever be

This was such a beautifully written manga but... That anime adaptation.

It was pretty canon up until the end - now there's no room for a second season, due to the fact that they completely reinvented one of the characters and even "changed" their gender.

We could be here all day discussing how season 1 was basically a train wreck when compared to the manga. We don't talk about season 2. I personally haven't seen season 3 since it just follows the Circus Arc from the manga (which I've already read) I hear that season 3 was still okay. Still wouldn't say it makes up for the terrible season 1 and whatever the hell season 2 is. Like season 2 isn't bad per say but I feel they mise as well have just made a new series and just not called it Black Butler. Season 1 is just good enough to get people into the series but seriously just read the manga.
