I remember that for a while (5th, 6th, 7th grade) I wouldn't tell anyone that I liked it. I would hide my drawings, and the only time I'd watch anime was when nobody was home. xD Needless to say, I grew out of being ashamed of my interests, and if somebody were to ask if I liked anime, I'd say yes. c:
Only a handful of people know I do, though... it's not like I go around telling people I like it. xD

^ you should not really be ashamed of watching anime at all! My friends is like that. She reads manga, watches anime and Korean Drama and doesn't like to tell any other people about it, because threre are haters! I on the other would love to tell everyone I watch anime. I feel special! I don't care what anybody thinks about anime. And if someone calls me a nerd I say "I know I'm such a proud nerd" . My other friends was very judgmental of me and my new friends, she was scared to hanged out with them cuz their otaku! I was so offended! It's not like we're not people T_T

I'm getting better at it. ;u; It's like I'm slowly coming out of the anime closet, lol.
It's awesome that you're able to tell people about something you love! At some point I'm sure nobody's opinions will matter to me anymore, but yeah if people asked I'd tell 'em. :D Tell your friend she's awesome for liking Korean dramas! They're pretty cool, too.

Well people do my family because they hear Japanese voices and the see what I'm watching sometimes when I watch it on my phone or iPad and because of my drawings of anime in my room but last year was the most where people knew I loved anime as much as I do because many others did too because all was read manga and they'd see a drawing I'd keep in front my binder of certain anime characters (Satoshi-kun/Ash,Kisshu-kun and Pudding-chan for that year but I started late)

personally i don't see the benefits in keeping it secret so i tell people and if something happens and i refer to an anime series they look at me and just ask and i tell them but it doesn't work to well with the ladies but were theirs a will theirs a way right?

i'm proud of it
