I have my first job interview suivant week. Any tips? Also, the interview is at noon and I have class before that so it's not very practical to dress up. So, do toi think it would be ok to wear a nice sweater & black jeans with black boots?

I'm applying to be a Speaker's lab mentor. A speaker's lab position is part-time employment at my school (college) for students. If I get the job, I will be assisting students with speech delivery, helping them overcome anxiety & stage fright, helping strengthen speech content, helping with PowerPoint presentations, etc.

Doesn't matter what toi are doing before, get suited up. toi have to dress to impress.

Be prepared to answer questions about time management, and how toi organise priorities, as well as how toi get on with people.

Be relaxed, prepare your réponses ahead of time.

I've been to dozens of job interviews and what above said, dress to impress. First impressions are paramount.

If you're worried choose a suit, get it cleaned, laundered and then hang it up on a manteau hanger, wrapped in a large plastic bag so it doesn't crease and keep it in your locker. That way toi can change in less then 3 minutes and be on your way. Make sure your shoes are shiny and brush your hair. If toi have no time to clean your teeth, suck mints.

Prepare your réponses before hand, like above said. Imagain what questions they will ask toi and write down your answers. Practise in a mirror, with friends, your parents, your tutors until toi can rely on eye contact to get toi through.
toi CV should include any other jobs toi have done, references from your employers, anything toi do out of school time toi find interesting, what grades toi have/grades toi are predicted.
If toi haven't had a job yet, ask your tutors if they will write a short note on how they find toi in class.
And the best tip i was ever given. If toi do not understand a question the employer asks, ou wish for plus time to think about your answer say ' could toi please repeat the question.'

Just remain calm and be as honest but positive as toi can.

For example,i told my current employer though i had expereince in waitressing it was not as high class as the establishment they were in, and that instead of telling me what to do (like how to carry 7 plates instead of 3) they would have to montrer me as i was a visiual learner. That will give your employer the confidence that toi know what toi need to learn.

I was employed in September 2010, we are now in Janurary 2011, and i am already an under-manager. To say i started as a waitress, that isn't so bad.
But toi must montrer toi can work hard and take things in.
