I tried to tug my arm back.
"Leggo of me, Sofie!"
She pulled harder.
"Come inside and rejoindre the party, Kiseki!" she squealed. I gave her a sly look and said,
"I'll come later ... just leave me alone for a bit." Finally, Sofie loosened her grip, but became playfully serious.
"You better!" she exclaimed, poking her lips out and squinting her eyes. I laughed and rubbed my wrist. She ran back to the booming musique and dark figures moving about that could be seen through the doorway. I sighed, and lay my head on my hand. Partying is exactly what I'm not in the mood for. Dumb Ranma; draggin' me here. ... Dummy. I only know the Total Drama Island cast. The other 65% are complete strangers. I jerked vers l'avant, vers l’avant a bit in my solemn position on the edge of the rue when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Hey ... why're toi out here??"
My dim expression enlightened when I saw Duncan gazing at me. Not a bit concerned, but oddly curious. I scoffed,
"Because my brother is having a bad time, so I'm waiting to walk accueil with him." I lied, turning the other way. I caught a glimpse of Ranma with his back flat on the ground with a bunch of hot bunny-girls I didn't recognize dancing around him. I could feel one of those cheep sweat drops forming, and shook my head in disgust. As if he was looking in the same direction, Duncan chuckled.
"Looks like he's havin' fun to me."
My face flushed a bit.
"Naw, Ranma's just ... okay, confession. I'm extremely bored." I laughed. Duncan put his arm around my shoulder, and I glanced at his hand with a puzzled look.
"Then go have fun."
"NO." I gasped with a sarcastic glint in my eye. With his free hand Duncan brushed back his lime-green mohawk and smirked at me.
"There's plenty of things to do."
"Liiiikkeee...?"
"... toi could dance with me." he smiled, giving me a wink. My mouth stuck out in an upside down V.
"What?"
Instead of answering, Duncan grabbed my hand and pulled me from my isolated comfort zone and into the steamy room filled with flashing lights and blurs I could only make out as rainbows. People were flooding my vision and bumping into me from every direction, but I kept a firm grip on Duncan's hand in return. Before I knew it, the smog cleared and I was in the center of the dance floor. I felt my waist being pulled, and then smacking into someone else's body. I looked into Duncan's eyes with a somewhat skeptical look. He grinned awkwardly.
"You know how to dance, right, Kiseki?"
The way he a dit my name made my stomach flutter a bit. I a dit after swallowing loads of giggles:
"Yes."
And we began.

~I told toi it was bad! I CAN'T WRITE HAPPY THINGS!! RAAAWRR!! I'M A DEPRESSING GIRL!!~
