Changelings have existed for plus than 4 million years, and they are the one of the oldest known species in Equestria. When the world was first created, there was nothing but changelings. Soon enough, the changelings discovered the art of disguise, and the plus times they reproduced the better they got at mimicking pony-like figures. As time passed, plus of the offspring where born already transfigured as a pony, and stayed that way. Pure changelings are extremely uncommon, and it is estimated that there are less than ten thousand left.
