At New York Comic-Con today, Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer had some fun talking about her character Margaery Tyrell, while also dropping what could be the tiniest of hints about the future of Margaery.
As fans know, Margaery’s fortunes took a turn for the worse last season when she was thrown in jail by the High Sparrow. But prior to that, Margaery had her eye on the Iron Throne, of course. Dormer was asked about what kind of threat her character poses to Lena Headey’s Cersei, who also has a thing for that Throne.

“What a massive compliment that you think she’s a threat!” said Dormer. “Oh God, I love working with Lena so much. Because Margaery is trying to
Cersei. She wants to be the mother of the king. I mean, she wants to have a child with him who winds up on the Iron Throne. And Cersei knows that. So it’s like the Cold War -- mutually assured destruction! But it got really interesting last season and they’ve got new problems. So who knows… The enemy of my enemy is my friend, maybe?”
Is that an indication that Margaery and Cersei will team up next season? Hell hath no fury! Of course, it could just be that Dormer was speculating, so we can only take this with a grain of Westeros salt for now…
The question came up during the chatty panel -- which also featured Finn Jones (Loras Tyrell) and Keisha Castle-Hughes (Obara Sand) -- of what
character the actors would like to play on the show if they had the chance. Dormer went all in on the Hound.

“I would really like to be Rory [McCann, who played the Hound],” she said. “I’d love to be the Hound for a day. Because he just doesn’t give a flying f#@k. He’s really happy being the bad guy. But he’s the good guy -- he’s the bad guy with the heart of gold. He’s the opposite of Margaery, who’s smiling all the time. So I’d love to be the Hound and just run my sword through some people!”
