emo Why?

Why is it that every one says emos cut them selves when few do sut but most dont? Most emos that I've met dont but the one I've met that do say that the emos that dont cut are "posers" but the emos that dont cut say the ones that do cut are posers? What is a "true emo?" Cuase I'm not sure any more. . . :( I'm oh so very confused!!! HELP!!!

I think that if u tell the whole WORLD that you are emo and cut urself
then you are a poser because then u r just seeking for attention.
But if u r emo and do/do not cut urself then u are not a poser.
Idk I guess posers are the ones that go around telling everyone that
they are emo and cut themeselves. I don't cut myself most emo's don't.
O'well that's just my opinion sorry if it doesn't make sense lol

All emos are depressed and how and felling of hurting themselves.

in my opinion emo don't have to cut.. that ridiculous that you have to cut.. emo is a way of living, of seeing people and stuff in life, a way of dealeaing with feelings and problems... a way of style.. all that ...
is stupid that someone has to hurt themself to be part of something
