Yeah, I say she is an example of an everyday girl who wants something more-who doesnt? She likes reading, riding her horse, she saw past the shallowness of her town ( peer pressure), and above all she learned to love something that looks like a Bison.- Okay Beast is more handsome than that. But he didnt start off that way-LOL.

I think Aurora is more perfect, but that is just me.

^ Agreed...but if Aurora had more screentime, she probably would be less perfect than Belle in my opinion.

I think she's more flawed than some find her. She seems a bit condescending about the people in her town (I know some of them deserve it, but she can't be the only one there who likes to dream and read, otherwise the bookstore would go out of business if she was their only customer, so clearly there are townspeople who share at least some of her interests, but she was so busy being disconnected and looking down on her provincial town she never found out)
She's also stubborn, and sometimes reckless. Plus, people rag on Cinderella for not chasing her dreams till her movie's events prompted her, but despite being much more proactive during her movie, Belle wasn't exactly doing much about her dreams but singing about them when we meet her either, was she? For all we know, if her father had never stumbled on Beast and forced Belle's hand she might have spent the rest of her life singing about her vague dreams of adventure and never doing anything.

I do like Belle a lot, just thought I'd say the faults I see in her since some feel Belle's biggest fault is her lack of faults. I think she has a good balance for a Disney heroine.
I think the most perfect is either Aurora or Mulan (since Mulan's only fault I can think of is lacking elegance/grace. Other than that all her traits are positive ones)

I think that's why I don't really like Belle that much. She's TOO perfect. She doesn't seem to have any flaws, other than the fact that she was curious and went to the West Wing.

She seems to be perfect but she has some flaws. She's sometimes too stubborn and a bit too pride with herself. Cinderella is the most perfect princess in my opinion.

I agree with Mermaid-Tail. I find Belle's flaws ( vanity. stubbornness, judgmental nature without knowing all of the facts, supercilious attitude, and choosing her father over everyone else) to be more disturbing. I think the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast tries way too hard to make Belle a feminist icon, but Belle is more flawed than Ariel, Mulan, Jasmine, and Pocahontas are... and she literally does nothing to improve her own flaws and grow up. Belle does not help anyone else out in the movie except for her dad.
