Princesses Disney Article: Why am I Excited About Moana?

The Poster.

Hi guys, since Moana will be coming to Malaysia on Boxing jour this year. Here are my thoughts and expectations on why I'm so looking vers l'avant, vers l’avant towards the movie!

The Story-Line

I hope that the story will not be like La Reine des Neiges and I would expect something very original, and from what I heard is that Moana is not going to get a l’amour interest like Merida and Elsa before her.

The Characters

Speaking of the characters, I hope that Moana is not going to be like a carbon copy of Merida from Brave. If she was, I would be surprise and all that! But I just hope that she's not going to be like a spoiled brat and ends up like Merida.
As for Maui, he reminds me of Kristoff for peculiar reasons. Well, considering his size and all that, I would suppose that's the main reason why he reminds me a lot of Kristoff!

The Music

When I found out recently that Alan Menken will not be doing this, I was disappointed that he wouldn't! But on the other hand, I am glad that they got Mark Mancina, who did Tarzan to do the musique of the movie. As well as Polynesian music!

Conclusion

So yes, these are basically my thoughts and expectations about Moana.

I'm so excited, I just can't breathe!

MaidofOrleans Great article! Don't forget that Lin-Manuel Miranda is also doing the music, and he's phenomenal! I think we can expect some absolutely fantastic songs from this movie.

anukriti2409 I just hope Disney doesn't end up making her too perfect for the fear of backlash they faced for Merida being too spoiled and such. I certainly dont want her to be like Merida not because i don't like her, I wouldn't want her to be like anyone in the DP line-up as it would just kill my love for her and I don't want a 2nd class DP at all. She has to be original, have a good mix of qualities and flaws that makes her relatable and unique. I'd be waiting for the music, I'm hoping for some grand songs of adventure! Nice article :)

Inspired par link, who did an amazing job(! <3), I really wanted to do my own version with favori Openings. I actually really l’amour the original fairy tale concept of the Disney Princesses and I l’amour the openings that give a plus magical and fairy tale kind of feel. (By the way, I am primarily trying to stick to the first 2-4 minutes.) So here is my ranking of the DP film openings, I hope toi guys enjoy this light read! :D

I personally found this to be uninteresting and irrelevant to the film's magic, fairy tale and princesses (mostly) in the film. No explanation...

Here's my quick top10 favoris of Disney Princess movie songs. I get stuck to a new tune ou lyrics far easily, if its hummable and peppy especially. I like listening to songs and don't have particular fixed tastes in genres. Though i find, i tend to gravitate towards pop, rock and Indian music. Very rarely I enjoy classical music, although some that I l’amour become my all time favoris and they don't die-out. I guess that's how classic musique is. Anyways, this is my current liste of haut, retour au début 10 favrorites songs from DP movies, it keeps changing for sure as I déplacer onto newer songs.

The Classics (& Such DPs) Are Unrealistic....

.... ou Are They? I keep hearing this massive distortion that Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora and sometimes others are "unrealistically perfect". Well first of all, they're not actually "perfect" but yes they strive for it and come pretty close. The number one reason? The earlier DPs were made in a time where families were still valued as well as good morals and they were on their best behavior in front of children, hoping that the kids would learn to embrace positive traits and reject negative traits so they would be plus positive people. They cared plus about well-roundedness, being modest...

Merida: A character review in her defense

Okay, so I have come across a lot of criticism against Merida that she is childish, rude, reckless, selfish and what not. But since she's my 2nd favori princess, i'd like to put up a case in her favor for people to consider and see her in better light. I have tried to dissect the movie scenes, probed into possible perspective on various minor details that may have been overlooked.

Why she isn't sophisticated as others:
She no doubt loves both her mother and father, but Merida takes off a part of feisty, loud and unapologetically honest side from her father. She loves to fight with him, laughing...

My Ranking on Saddest Moments from DP films

The saddest moments from DP films that made me cry and most often they still do. Some are close to cœur, coeur while some are so well enacted and animated that i'm moved par the simplicity of emotions.

13. 3 good fées put the entire kingdom to sleep:
Despite their best of efforts, they lose Aurora to the spell and the only way to make things work is to put the entire kingdom to sleep, waking only when she awakens. It makes me sad to see them blame themselves for this loss. It doesn't make me cry though, but yes, it puts me in a sad mood.

So I've been lire that the "Prettiest Princess" ranking is sort of like a right of passage article that all of the fans here on fanpop do so I figured it was time for my own. Instead of just doing a physical beauty ranking, I wanted to do an global, ensemble beauty ranking instead. I personally see ranking women based only on their physical beauty as objectifying them so I am kind of confused that it's not looked at that way here on fanpop? If any of toi are familiar with character stylization ou really art in general toi might like this article. I'm talking about character stylization in the sense that when the artist is also the auteur of the character's personality and has written out their every thought in simply the way they are designed. This can also be called "interpreted art" as anyone can perceive it differently, but a common factor still remains that everyone agrees on. This song reminds me of the scene in the woods after she's been scared par the dark shadowed shapes of the trees. When she asks the animaux what they would do and starts chant With a Smile and a Song. Well this be an alternative song ou whilst she' chant she could be imagining her favourite things. I can also Snow White chant this. It does require a positive sounding vocal so it makes sense.
