As I was creating my icones for Team Merida, I realised exactly why I loved this girl. As a result, I decided to write an article with 5 reasons why everybody should l’amour Merida/Brave
1. Rebelle was the first Pixar film that had a female protagonist.
Pixar is a hugely successful company, but it took about 8 years since they first started making films for them to make a movie where the main character was a girl. Before Rebelle was made, I was slightly annoyed at Pixar - most of it's films didn't even pass the Bechdel test. I l’amour Rebelle because it finally featured an awesome female character.
2. Merida is a great role-model, just the same as some of the other girls
Perhaps Merida isn't your first thought when it comes to good role-model. A lot of people call her "spoilt" and "a brat". However, stop to think about it. There is something in Merida's life that she doesn't like, so she makes a HUGE effort to change it. She doesn't just accept a bad fate. There are millions of teenagers in abusive ou bad situations and Merida can act as a perfect role-model to montrer teens they can change their life!
3. Merida is the first princess with brothers
I have ALWAYS wished for a princess film that showed an accurate portrayal about the brother/sister relationship. And while Rebelle didn't have much of a focus on the four siblings, at least it was a start. I WANT plus PRINCESSES WITH BROTHERS
4. Merida is the first princess who didn't end up with a l’amour interest.
I guess to some people this would not seem very significant, but I feel it is very important that girls see that a princess doesn't have to eventually end up with a prince/love interest. toi don't need a man to live happily ever after. Rebelle teaches girls that life is about finding yourself, not romantic love.
5. Merida gets a lot of unfair criticism
As mentioned earlier, Merida is often (unfairly) called a spoiled brat because of the way she reacts when she finds out she is being forced into marriage. But, realistically, how would toi feel if toi were sixteen and looking vers l'avant, vers l’avant to studying at université so toi can go and live your dreams. Suddenly, your parents tell toi none of that is going to happen and toi have to give up your dreams and get married. Any arguement toi make is completely ignored. Oh, and par the way, toi have no choice in who toi marry and your husband is a complete stranger who toi have never spoken too. I'm guessing any sane person would react the same way Merida did.
That concludes this article. I would really be interested to hear your thoughts.

"Now, what's going on? Why are toi two arguing?" asked Dee Dee, Prince Charming & Cendrillon look at each other nervously. "Well, I was upset that Prince Charming didn't tell me that Ella and Kit were coming and their movie." replied Cinderella.
"Are toi really sure Cendrillon that toi two are not jealous of us?" asks Ella, looking very concerned that her animated counterparts may not like them due to their popularity. "No, we're not, it's just....I don't know!" lied Cinderella, "Listen, we're going to start packing, we're going back to France tomorrow morning!" a dit Prince Charming.
They hurry out of Dee's room and went upstairs to pack, Dee Dee catches a glimpse of tears coming out of Cinderella's eyes. Knowing that her time is coming to end, she and the other princess must do something. "But how? I'm having an nagging feeling about this!" thought Dee Dee.

freeze will come
and breeze toi away
i can freeze
toi can freeze
we all freeze for ice cream
11 users has voted in the poll: 'Will toi add some songs for the Eurovision Songcontest Disney Princesses Theme?' Almost the half of the users has a dit 'no' the others has voted 'maybe'. want to change the part of adding songs in the contest and want to. do it with polls. The best three songs from each movie joins the contest. This is just an idea, maybe I'm just impatient. If there is enthousiasm and users add songs. I won't change it. But it's likely that, that won't happen. So I'm preparing now to the other way of selecting songs for the contest. I hope toi will vote in the contest! It's my first contest on Fanpop!
