Amanda Seyfried, Mila Kunis, and Gemma Arterton have played ou are going to play leading ladies of well known storybook characters on the big screen. The problem I have is not with the actrices personally but the ever pattern in beauty.

We had Snow White and the Huntsman, Once Upon a Time series, Mirror Mirror, Red Riding Hood. 2013, we’re going to get Jack the Giant Slayer, Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters, Oz: The Great & Powerful, and Disney will be making an adaption of The Snow Queen sometime soon. There probably are going to be plus fairy tale adaptations in 2014. The films are starting to look better with écriture and action (seriously last year’s fairy tale adaptations sucked) but in the future I would like to see directors actually cast a plus size woman as the lead role of the princess ou maiden.

I think there should be plus size princesses. Maybe from Disney maybe from other companies that are starting to make plus and plus fairy tale adaptations. The point is I think with all these adaptations coming out this an these companies should start using plus size actrices as the main leads ou draw plus size princess characters.

Yeah I know I’m going to get crap for saying this but I think companies should start doing this with their adaptations. I mean, everyone want to make a different and twisted version of these stories so why not be as different from everyone else to cast a thick chick as Little Mermaid? Other directors haven't been doing that yet.

I've seen two horror films on Red Riding capuche, hotte before. Red Riding capuche, hotte (2011) and Company of loups (1984). I've seen many horror dark twist to Snow White. Snow White and the Huntsman, & Snow White a Tale of Terror. But I never seen them portrayed par thick women.

And besides what fairy tale actually SAID—I mean what TEXT says—that the princess was thin ou had a small waist? None do because all of those fairy tale’s beauty ideals are very vague so the reader can just imagine their own image of beauty. It makes it relatable to all kinds of people. Also the appearance doesn't really matter. All we need to know that the princess is considered beautiful. That is why these fairy tales have been passed down to so many different generations.

Also since directors already change things in adaptations like turning innocent Red Riding capuche, hotte into a hot blonde twenty an old I don’t think making a curvy princess would take out of the story. And well being historically accurate doesn’t apply when these fairy tales are vague and aren’t based on any historic people ou events.

The standers of beauty can’t be just this one thing. I would like Hollywood to grow and be plus diverse in what its images of beauty are. I want Disney in the future to have female characters that are thicker and are looked as beautiful. Little girls need to see that. Heck, grown women need to see that!

Why can’t Christina Aguilera at the weight she is now be cast as a princess Odette in the suivant cygne Lake movie? Sara Ramirez is beautiful, why can't she play the 2014 version of Rapunzel? Hayley Hasselhoff is freaking adorable looking. Seriously she is a cutie pie; I would like to see her play Cendrillon ou the girl from Rumpelstiltskin. Why can’t Jenna Ushkowitz be casted as Sleeping Beauty ou Princess Badroulbadour in Aladdin? geai, jay Park could play a chant Aladdin. She has the chant voice of a fairy tale princess. She would be perfect for a musical fairy tale adaption. Why can’t American Ferrea play the lead in Snow White & Rose Red? Why can’t Joanne Borgella play the main lead in the Grimm’s tale Brother and Sister?

I’m not saying Hollywood should just stop casting skinny girls as the pretty girl roles all together. No. I just think the body images on screen should widen out some. One movie skinny actress, the suivant should have a thicker actress. There are a few beautiful plus size actrices that could play these fairy tale divas in a new modern twist. Seriously, Hollywood needs to become plus diverse of what beauty is and what it can be. It can’t be just one image. Everyone should be able to feel beautiful, sexy, and desirable.

Also (not that this has anything to do with the topic but) I have to give it up to Tommy Wirkola for actually seeming to put some thought and care into his movie. Yeah, the idea of Hansel and Gretel with pistolets hunting witches and looking like a video game Sucker coup de poing movie is very wacky and weird but at least it's creative & unique. Wirkola is making his adaption his own and that's what directors should do with these fairy tale adaptions. WE all know the story of Hansel and Gretel so the fact that his takes place after the events of the story we know seems to be a smart déplacer because now the audience doesn't know what to expect and they won't be told the same story over and over again with but with different sets.
Yesterday, I posed a question to myself: if all the princesses had special powers like Elsa and Rapunzel, what would they be? I thought the answer would make an interesting article. Thanks to Silverrose1991 and zikkiforever for their suggestions.

Snow White - Talking to animaux

Snow White can be observed communicating with animaux plenty of times in her movie so toi can't deny that she could have 'talking to animals' as her power. The only thing debatable here is whether ou not toi consider that a power. But hey: If Aquaman talking to poisson is a power, so is Snow White talking to animals.

I've decided to do La Reine des Neiges version of Crossing The Line with Elsa as Rapunzel and Anna as Cassandra since my girl Anna is the MOST underrated Disney character just like Cass here.

Elsa: Anna! This has to stop now
Whatever it is that you're going through
We'll fix it together, me and you
Just like we've always done

Anna: No! This has to stop now
This thing where toi think that you've been my sister
And don't even hear how toi consider
The way you've always done

Elsa: Anna, listen

Anna: (I'm listening)

Elsa: I know it isn't true

Anna: (Isn't it?)

Elsa: Just look into my eyes now

Anna: (Well?)

Elsa: I know...

I grew up loving everything about Ariel; her chant voice, her eyes, her hair, her being a mermaid, her dream, everything. I l’amour how she collects anything from land that she can get her hands on, her curiosity, and her fearlessness. -BB2010

My favori things about Ariel is her curious and bubbly personality and her beautiful chant voice. -LMH5113

I have loved everything about her, including her impulsivity, her curiosity and thirst for knowledge, her perseverance, and her indomitable spirit in the face of the harshest obstacles that would deter practically any other princess. In my opinion,...
