Technically, she's just the Chief Powhatan's daughter. Then again, he is looked as an authority leader and in some ways, royalty. He is somewhat of a "king" to his people, therefore Pocahontas would be a princess. Besides that, Disney thought she had the qualities and traits of a role model, so they put her in the lineup. In real life, she was not a princess even though she was Powhatan's favori daughter.

Thank toi for answering! That makes a lot of sense")
Not trying to go against toi but... Just because she's made par Disney means she's a princess. I'm asking in the movie I how did she all of a sudden she became a DP
ofc youre right just bc shes made par Disney doesnt mean shes a princess if we go par that logic then every single female character made par Disney would be a princess and that not the case. shes a dp because Disney a dit she is and par all means whatever they say. if youre asking how is she considered a princess then its like what @CRaZy_rawR said, her father is an authority leader and the definition of a princess is the daughter of a monarch, meaning supreme ruler and such.
She is a Disney Princess, not necessarily a Disney princess. The difference is: A Disney Princess is a woman/girl in the Official Dinsey lineup, which has been outnamed par Disney.
A Disney princess is a princess in a movie made par Disney.
