'Younger' season 2: TV Land montrer gets January 2016 premiere rendez-vous amoureux, date

Younger" will return for season 2 in early 2016. TV Land announced Wednesday, Oct. 14 that the show will premiere its 12-episode second season on Tuesday, Jan. 12 with a one-hour episode at 10/9 p.m. CT, TV Line reports.

The series, created by Darren Star ("Sex and the City"), stars Sutton Foster as Liza, a 40-something who pretends to be 26 in order to score a job in publishing. The comedy series co-stars Hilary Duff ("Lizzie McGuire"), Debi Mazar ("Entourage"), Miriam Shor ("GCB") and Nico Tortorella ("The Following"). The announcement for the premiere date for the new season was made on the show\'s Twitter page in a special video for fans.

As TV Wise reports, the cable network also revealed that "Younger" will be paired with new comedy "Teachers," which debuts on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 11/10 p.m. CT, before moving to its regular 10:30/9:30 p.m. CT time slot the following week. The comedy, based on the web series of the same name, revolves around six Elementary school teachers who are trying to mold the minds and lives of America’s youth, even though they don’t really seem to have their own lives together at all. It stars improv group The Katydids – Caitlin Barlow, Katy Colloton, Cate Freedman, Kate Lambert, Katie O’Brien and Katie Thomas – who also wrote and starred in the web series. They also serve as executive producers alongside showrunners Ian Roberts and Jay Martel.

“\'Younger\' and \'Teachers\' represent two very different sides of the new, smarter and edgier TV Land,” said Keith Cox, Executive Vice President of Development and Original Programming for TV Land. “Season 2 of \'Younger’ brings even more witty, sexy and cliffhanger moments and \'Teachers\' is hilariously bizarre, pushing the envelope and bringing the network into new comedic territory.”
