The Story is Unusual

Unlike many fantaisie TV series, the story-line is very unusual and it is no wonder that the series gained popularity for its brilliant writing. It was a spin-off from the Hercules series, from which I didn't know at that time.

The Characters

One thing about the characters, especially Xena and Gabriel's relationship is very complex. Some a dit they are friends, others a dit that they are Lesbians. It doesn't really make much of a difference to me! But...
