Each spot on fanpop has a forum, and each forum can have countless threads. The industrious fanpop users have started a new trend of using the fora for various light-weight games, typically naming items in a particular category. Many spots have such threads in their fora, and this is a guide to those games.
This is not meant to be an exhaustive guide, as there are new games being created all the time. Rather, this is intended to point to representative examples of the different game variations on the site (and also to provide a place for users to commentaire and provide liens to their favori forum games).
I. The first game, and the most basic, is the "A-Z" game, where users take turns naming something related to the spot topic starting with subsequent letters of the alphabet. These may restrict posters from repeating previously posté items ou not, but they ultimately are very similar. link.
II. Then there's the "neverending story" type of game, where each user contributes some pre-determined amount of story to a collaborative story that the users all write together. link
III. Third, there's the survival game, such as link. In this type of game, there is a liste of choices/contestants, which are donné a set number of 'points' to start. Each poster then adds ou subtracts 1 point from one (or more) of the choices. As posting continues, some of the choices will eventually reach 0 points, at which they are removed from the running. Posting continues in this way until only one choice remaining.
IV. Fourth, the word-association game is simple: each user posts the first word that occurs to them on lire the précédant user's post. link.
V. Fifth is the "leading question" game, which often takes the form of a true/false game. Each poster asks a question, after answering the précédant question. link.
VI. Sixth is a related type of game: the "divine stuff about your fellows" game, which requires each user to post a fact about the précédant poster (which toi can see can feed off of the précédant type of game). link.
VII. The seventh type is the "six degrees" type game (I know, I know, sorry about the numbers not matching up), where each user posts something related to the spot topic AND with a direct connection to the précédant post. link.
After that, there are a number of plus unique games where I haven't seen multiple instances on fanpop. For example, there's the link from the films spot, where each poster names a movie titre that starts with the last letter of the précédant movie WITHOUT repeating any titles that have already been mentioned.
Please commentaire on this article with pointers to your favorites, as well as examples of other, different types of forum games I may have missed.
