Damon has kept Elena alive just as much as Stefan has. Granted, Damon is after the same girl. But, Stefan inadvertently created this beast over a century il y a when the two were first turned.

Now, he’s going to have to beg for forgiveness because like most TVD viewers expect and hope, Delena must and eventually will happen. It’s just a matter of the right sequence of events lining up.
