Considering the Twilight Saga was made in 2003 and L. J. Smith's TVD series was made in '91 (I believe), it would be quite a feat for LJS to have copied Smeyer. Seriously? I find it a little bit odd to even ask this question.

Either Meyer copied LJ's work, or the ideas are individually unique. LJ copying Meyer isn't an option, lest she have done sort of time travel back in the day.

If there was a real debate on copying which I don't see it, I agree. Just look at the dates the stories where writen.

I have heard of a number of arguements on the subject of L.J. copying Meyer which I find quite strange considering TVD being published 14 years before Twilight. I just thought to see how many people actually think TVD is a copy of Twilight without knowing further information.

I realize what you were trying to do, but if people are as dumb to accuse LJS of copying Twilight without doing the research first, then it serves them right to be told off. The rule of the game is almost always that people are ignorant and will say things before they even know they're true.

I wasn't really directing that comment at you, though. Sorry if it might have sounded that way. I was more pissed off that LJS had been winning (or rather losing) the poll in comparison to Smeyer, which is a total and complete falsehood.
