Vampire Diaries Question

Do toi think the tv montrer will start to follow the books?

At first i didnt think so because there was no meredith and elena was brunette. I thinking thought that they may semi-follow it now that they brought klaus into the picture. However they know katherine is alive obviously which was kind of the climax of the first book(i think) when toi find out she didnt commit suicide. So they kind of ruined it

Well, technically, they are following the books, to an extent but they can't have it too similar because then the fans will most likely know what is going to happen and it won't be as exciting.
Actually, I don't mind that they're not following the books, cause they're making it better.
As for Meredith, well, she was essential to the livres because they needed her grandfather to help hurt Klaus, so I don't think they'll bring Meredith in.
So, probaly only to an extent, but I don't think it will be exact and they'll always bring in new characters, new problems and new parties to go to in Mystic Falls.
