Me? Im a Delena gal! The plus I saw Elena spend time, with Damon, the plus I saw his humanity come out. I believe Elena helped slowly turn Damon into a better person. I'm not saying she didn't l’amour him for the badass vamp he was, I'm just saying she loves Damon no matter what and was able to see the good in him when everyone else refused to.

Damon whirled caught her presicely and kissed her.
He was stroking her hair, which was so unfair..."(SS p 117)

Elena makes Damon weak. Not in the bad way, but in the way that he loves her so much, and he would do ANYTHING for her and therefore she is his achilles heel. Before we can be strong, we must be weak, and Damon's l’amour for Elena makes him feel plus than he's ever felt, which makes him stronger.

She is everything to him. It seems lika a funny sidcom because she doesn't know the affect she has on him. But she does feel the affect he has on her. Whenever Damon is around, Elena seems lighter somehow, as if the weight of the world isn't pressed upon her, as if Damon is par her side carrying it with her.
It is in those moments and many others that we see the extent of their l’amour for each other. I won't ignore that Bamon has something ou Stelena l’amour each other, I'm just saying that the passion and the l’amour Damon and Elena share are worth fighting for. Elena and Damon are enemies first, then friends, then lovers... Don't the best ones start out that way?
