Stefan, his (un)life is Not green fields and flowers you know...Damon is happy because he's free, Stefan is not...

Let's see: both Katherine and Elena love Stefan and not him and he's been in love with both and is still in love with Elena; Damon was turned because of Stefan; he's got no friends except for Alaric, and sometimes Elena.

I agree with you kaite15 damon had the harder life stefan got everyting handed to him. His father loved him, katherine loved him, and elena loves him. even bonnie treats him better than damon

At the start of TVD Damon was miserable and tried to make Stefan miserable too. Could he have been more lonely? And now he is feeling again and he is STILL getting knocked around, not trusted and rejected. It's gonig to be a long hard road for Damon. Here's hoping Elena is waiting at the end of it for him :)

Why does Elena love Stefan anyway? He isn't ever fun. He is always miserable, and he doesn't have to be. He if would drink a little human blood a day like he started doing in season 2, he would be more fun. Miss Mystic Falls is one of my fave episodes because it isnt ruined bt stefan's brooding!!!!! Plus, all great love story's happen with 2 completely opposite people. Stefan and Elena have evrything in common. Damon is perfect for her. Plus, more people like them anyways, so more people would like the show more if they were together.

I'd say both, but Damon definitely takes the cake.

I say damon for this one and only because of the rejection from his father, not because of katherine or elena. He has more of a choice with katherine or elena to walk away, but his father will always be his father and that must be the worst kind of rejection.

Damon having no friends, is his own fault, he hasn't given anyone much of a reason to trust him.

If people could pick and choose who to love nobody would ever suffer any heartbreak. Nobody can choose to stop loving someone else just because it's convenient.
Granted, a lot of bad things that happen to Damon are due to his self-destructive behavior, but not even taking that into account I'd say he's suffered way more.

I thought someone would pick out that particular sentence. However, that is not what i'm disputing, as i never said people could pick and choose who they fall in and out of love with, but he could walk away and begin to care for someone else, but you can't pick and choose who your father will be.

What i am saying is, is that Damon's own father, his blood, his own kin, rejected him, but loved stefan. Family relationships are suppose to have unconditional love and even if Damon could walk away from that, it would be to late anyway, the mental scars are there and that does not go away, just like that, that could haunt someone for a long time and no matter what he does that man will always be his father. To be rejected, twice more and over stefan, again, must feel like a kick in the teeth and do you know what this looks like, a pattern repeating itself.

I still stand by what i say. No matter how self-destructive his behaviour, he still brought this on himself and you have to take responsibility for your own actions. Stefan went through a struggle with blood, so what about his struggle.

Compared to Damon, Stefan has had everything fed to him on a silver spoon. Whatever Stefan wants, Stefan gets.

Damon has never had anything he's ever wanted. Even as a human. And ever after all that he's selfless enough to watch the woman he loves love his brother just to see her happy.

yeah Stefan's had his struggle with blood but he overcame it. Underneath his emotionless, vampire exterior we still know Damon is that lonely, unloved boy from 1864

@Anna_JH: i'm not sure what you are trying to say, because i agree that damon's had it harder, because of the rejection of his father, which still follows him to this day.

From what I remember, stefan was the good child, the obedient one and damon played by his own rules. Now, I have children myself and I will say this, if they are being naughty then they will be punished and obviously if there not and they listen, they will find things will tend to go there way. So as I have said before, Damon tends to bring alot of things on himself, in regards to people trusting him.

I think Damon needed to admit it out aloud and facing her made him see it as fact, but in no way I think it was selfless that was more for himself, but each to there own.

Stefan does not get what he wants, he still had to win back elena's trust after he lied, which proves he isn't a saint, he had to deal with aiding in turning his brother, which he's had to carry for so long, amongst other things.

All i'm trying to say is that even though i agree and damon has had it harder, it sounds like your saying it's not much of a struggle for stefan.

Ok neone that thinks that Damon has it easy is incredibly mistaken.. Damon has gone through alot.. he thought he loved katherine but she just compelled him to love her.. he loves elena but she loves stefan.. last episode rose died and Damon is just all torn up about that,,, so for those people that think damon has it easy,, hahaha guess again,,
Yeah stefan hasnt had the best life either but i think that Damon has had it much worse...
