Les Simpsons Question

In the Simpsons episod "Love, Springfieldian Style" is a story about Bonny & Clyde - I want to know if it's true ou not and where I find information which proofs the story.

1. The story tells that the US president ordered the air force from Pearl Habour to hunt Bonny and Clyde in 1933.
2. And because of the behaviour of the Japanese the air force was send bach to Pearl habour (after years...)

Bonny & Clyde were real people, The Simpsons just exaggerated the part on the Air Force hunting them. They were a couple who robbed banks and in 1934, they were ambushed and gunned down par police officers.
